Is it time to resurrect a competition I had on another board? You have 6 months to extract any amount of funds from a 419 scammer.
Last time the winner came up with a little over $300, after 4 months of back-and-forth. Wonder if they've gotten any wiser.

Apparently 419 is the criminal code for fraud in Nigeria.
It has become popularized by perhaps the biggest scam baiting website 419eater.com
The ethics of scam baiting involves an interesting discussion.
I found this article from the atlantic magazine called How to trick an online scammer into carving a computer out of wood. I enjoyed reading it.

Before starting a thread/competition, I'd have to think about the parameters for success (it is unlikely that anyone here has the perseverence and hacking abilities required to dupe those jokers into actually paying money).
Coincidentally (or not) I have been besieged for the last three days by someone claiming to represent the Nigerian Government, offering to send over a million dollars to our bank account for the promised delivery of trauma gear valued in that range. He seems to have gone dark after I told him I had contacted the Nigerian Government to verify that he represents them... now I am having regrets.
