I've been pretty miffed about why Trump's failure to disclose his taxes has not been made a Big Deal. But maybe now it's time. With George Will speculating that it may have something to do with Trump's connection to Russian businesses and all the shady individuals such an endeavor would entail, this seems like it's finally going to get some traction.

Trump first lied and said that he couldn't release his taxes because he was being audited. Then the IRS released a public statement saying, "Bullshit, he totally can" (to that effect anyway).

But now this Russian, out of left field thing should be hammered by the Dems until he screams. And he will scream. The best place is probably the first debate. And then the second, if he'll even agree to more than one.

It's a great way to tie him to an American bogeyman while at the same time harping on his unwillingness to release his taxes. And maybe this was the Dem plan all along. Wait until after the conventions and then begin to hammer his orange ass with this. It allows speculation on basically anything: he's not as rich as he says he is, he doesn't give to charity, he doesn't pay taxes, it shows that he does business with the Mafia, and on and on and on.

If the Dems don't do this, they're fucking stupid.

They've got to. The goose is shitting golden eggs. You've got Trump's financial ties to Russia. Manafort's ties to Russia. I'd play it up as Trump being Medvedev (western edition). Putin trying to take the US without firing a shot, or at least control of our foreign policy. Putin, Trump, puppet strings. Come on. I don't even have to be high to go here.

There's so much dirt on Trump. The scary question is, does anyone care? Is there such disdain for politicians that not enough people even care?

The problem I see is that there is not evidence, and I think American voters are very skeptical at this time. Let's face it it's more than likely BS but will get people who already hate Trump or love Hillary agitated. But, Trump is able to fend this sort of stuff of reasonably well.
If only the Democrats had someone even half decent running against Trump. They would win easily I think.

I'm sure no reasonable person, all things equal, wants Trump to be President. Despite all the problems with career politicians I think most people would prefer one of those to Trump.
But no, the stupid Democrats insist upon putting up Hillary. One of the most unpopular candidates ever.

Here in California during Presidential elections, neither candidate ever really bothers to run political ads. It's just not money well spent for either, so I don't really know what Hillary's campaign against Trump is like. I've seen some decent sarcastic ones, but not any hard hitting ones.

So here's what I see. I see the Dems making the right accusations, but then leaving them alone after a few days. But to my mind, this, for the time being is one that can be used against him every single day (him not releasing his taxes) because it's factual and it won't take time to get under his skin with it. The annoying chants political changes write themselves.

Since Dubbya, we have seen the Republican organize themselves around a one line talking point and repeat over and over and over again on in every interview on every single TV show they're on for weeks at a time. Get the goddamn Democrats to do the same.

"Yes, Anderson, you did just ask me about the price of tea in China but what the American people want to know is what Trump is hiding in his taxes."

Trump's denial appears parsed to exclude loans. Which cause some to speculate there must be evidence, since if there's not, he could simply lie about it.

Could get interesting.

And now he's openly inviting Russia to come up with Clinton's "missing emails." Pence and Ryan are running for cover, but neither is quitting.

The people who support him do not care. Just like there is nothing too small or too false to use against Obama or Clinton, there is nothing too heinous or revealing of moral bankruptcy that they cannot excuse of their savior.

It will only take a small percentage of people caring to swing this election. I've given up the thought that Clinton could manage a sweep, so now I'm going for the simple win.

Here the current thing is Trump's statements with children watching. It's a multiple times a day thing at least on MSNBC. You can see it here. Variants of this ad have been on for a little over a month now.

Another 2 that have aired here, one a variant of the one linked above.

Every election makes me more glad I don't watch TV.

Hillary is a Socialist!!! That is why it is perfectly fine for a presidential candidate to work with Russia, and a former KGB agent to stop her.

That's a good one.

I agree this would normally be a good tactic but are you sure you want Hillary to go after Trump for not being willing to release documents?

Given Trump's Russia comments today, I'd be surprised if I didn't see ads about that within the next few days.

I wouldn't if I were her, but other people can (and will). :D

Obama and Biden are up tonite. Heh.

You're in a close state, Nevada, are you getting hit with ads everyday yet? I'm hoping Florida won't be a national embarrassment; unfortunately that may be too much to ask.

I'm thinking we'll come around by November. A lot of volunteers from California are going to be coming over to help out.

HRC just needs to run up the score in Clark county, and win Washoe county, and there's no issue with a close vote in NV. Here it could be like 2012 where the election has already been called, but people are still waiting in line in Miami to vote. Or what also happened in 2012 as described by Jon Stewart.
