Tom Petty has had what appears to be a massive heart attack

 
 
 
He was a big part of my classic rock phase in high-school. Have never felt the affinity to him that I do Bob Dylan, or Joni Mitchell, but have dedicated some space for his music today.
 
Not the biggest fan, but still saddened at this news. RIP.
 
One of the greatest songwriters of my generation is dead at 66, yet that filthy cocksucker Trump just keeps going.

Smoker, I believe. I saw a video of him and his buddy Gary Shandling. Didn't strike me as a healthy guy.

Probably not the place, but Spotify did a Tom Petty themed Throwback Thursday playlist, with his tunes mixed in with all of the other classics of the folk/rock era.

All I can think of while listening is that his song-writing really doesn't stand up to some of the best stuff of the era.
