I'm a leftist and believe no such thing. Perhaps what you meant to say is "Unlike the right, which are all racist idiots." Fortunately I don't believe that, but I do know you are a perfect example of such in action.
 
Whether he is reasonable or a racist, it is reasonable and neccessary for there to be true liberals (those who actually value post-Enlightenment principles of secularism, liberty, and equality) who recognize the serious dangers of allowing huge numbers of immigrants socialized within societies with pre-Enlightenment cultures that are anti-thetical to modern liberalism, but without racist presumptions that the root of the problem lies in the race of those immigrants or in Islam being inherently more dangerous than Christianity rather than sincere religious belief in general being dangerous versus the secularized neutered shell of religious belief that most western Christians cling to.

It is important that there be forces and voices other than right-wing bigots versus left-wing self-loathing morons who think there is no meaningful differences between Muslim and Western cultures, except for the negative effects that Western imperialism has had.

To loathe oneself, and to loathe the wider culture that one's own narrow subculture is a subculture of, are two very different things. These people are not self-loathing; they are left-wing narcissistic morons: people who maintain their irrationally high opinion of themselves by means of the psychological strategy of loathing the lesser beings they live among. They choose to believe there are no meaningful differences between Muslim and Western cultures, except for the negative effects that Western imperialism, even though sincere religious belief in general is dangerous versus the secularized neutered shell of religious belief that most western Christians cling to, because it makes them feel like superior life-forms. The entire modern practice of letting in huge numbers of immigrants socialized within societies with pre-Enlightenment cultures that are antithetical to modern liberalism is a spot-on example of what Thomas Sowell called "The Vision of the Anointed: Self-Congratulation as a Basis for Social Policy".
 
Well, having been repeatedly warned that jail was a likelihood if he persisted in his contempt of court; And having nevertheless persisted, it would appear that he has successfully ruled out 'sensible' as an option.

He is now talking about seeking asylum in the USA (that's the same USA that deported him back to the UK when he was found to have illegally entered that country on a fake passport), because he believes that he will be subjected to the death penalty if he remains in the UK (which removed the last capital crimes from the statute books two decades ago).

Apparently he has convinced himself that British jails are run by 'Islamic Gangs' who would certainly kill him if he is returned to prison. Also apparently he's a total coward, and a fair-weather patriot.

On the plus side, the satirists are having a field day.

Only if 'I can do whatever I want, and the law won't apply' qualfies as a 'political view'.

He is being held responsible for deliberately acting in a manner prejudicial to the ability of the legal system to give people a fair trial. Repeatedly. After having been warned several times not to.

Defendants have a right to a fair trial. They have a right not to have fuckwits attempt to prejudice juries against them.

Tommy Robinson isn't being persecuted; He's being prosecuted - and rightly so, as he was deliberately and maliciously acting in a way calculated to cause direct harm to the rights of others, and he failed to stop doing this when warned not to.

He is being persecuted in the same way that Trump is a very stable genius - it actually takes more than simply asserting something for it to be the truth.

He's a vicious and bigoted cunt, and he's a narcissistic coward to boot. So I can understand why Trump supporters love him. But he's in no way being persecuted - any person of any political persuasion who did the same thing (broadcasting images of defendants in an active criminal trial, during the period of a lawful order not to do so) would get the exact same treatment by the legal system.

He's also not able to claim asylum in the US by dint of not being in the US; And the US immigration system has made it very clear that (as a result of his previous deportation for illegally entering the US on a fake passport), he is not welcome there even as a visitor.

He is indeed - that's what the article is satirizing.

But he can't get asylum in the US unless he can get to the US - which will be hard to do while he is in jail in the UK.
 
So, his original sentence has been reinstated. After taking off time already served, and the standard discount for 'good behaviour', he can expect to serve a further ten weeks in jail.

The Americans had better fast-track his asylum claim, or he will have been released before it's been considered.

What a fragile little fuckwit he is. It's pathetic, not to mention hypocritical, that someone who campaigns for tough prison sentences is so gutless about such a trivial sentence. If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.
