Drove to Wyoming to see Devil'e Tower. Learned some geology. Met no aliens.

Were you expecting to meet aliens??

Do people who go to Devil's Tower usually expect to meet aliens there?

Is this one of those "legend" things like Area51?

In the Movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind (am I dating myself?), Devil's Tower is the location which the aliens pick to land on earth and contact the human race. Whatever the reason for it, it makes a great end to the movie.

Yikes, 1977, I guess I am dating myself!

What fun! We witnessed protest marches in Florence and Venice. In Venice we had just disembarked from the train and across the canal from the station protesters marched against a fairly small contingent of police, who eventually fired tear gas canisters and percussive grenades to break it up.

It looks different in rock than in mashed potato.

I was going to propose to my ex-wife on one of those things, but got seasick and distracted, and ended up doing it later in the hotel room.
