Trump Picks Jon Huntsman To Be U.S. Ambassador To Russia:
The Associated Press reports:
... "Trump also went after Huntsman during his tenure as ambassador to Beijing. In a series of tweets in 2011 and 2012, the celebrity businessman called Huntsman a "lightweight" and "weak" and claimed that China "did a major number on us" during his tenure."

Sounds like just what Puppetmaster Bannon ordered. Huntsman is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. But as for Ruski:

The Energy 202: Jon Huntsman's Russia connections run through Chevron:
But as Vox's Zack Beauchamp and others have written, the choice is confusing because Huntsman does not speak Russian and is not "a Russia expert, or anything close." Huntsman's experience in Russia appears to be limited to his business interests there. A company owned by Huntsman’s family does business in Russia, and he has traveled to that country in that capacity, report The Post's Abby Phillip and Lisa Rein.

And for the past three years, Huntsman has served on the board of directors of Chevron, the second largest U.S. oil and gas company — and one of the biggest corporations affected by curent U.S. sanctions against Russia.

Why do you need an Ambassador who knows something about Russia if Putin's just going to give Trump his orders directly without going through an intermediary?

When things go south, there has to be someone besides Cheato to take the blame.

If Chevron wants to cut oil deals with oligarch's they should have chosen an ambassador who speaks the language. I think Tillerson dropped the ball on this one.

China is right next to Russia, he'll be fine.

Palin piled on in her tweet, adding, “Remember I can keep an eye on them from here,” an allusion to a 2008 interview in which she said her time in Alaska gave her insight into Russian actions.
“They’re our next-door neighbors,” she told ABC as the vice presidential nominee. “And you can actually see Russia, from land, here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska.”

Russia's getting out of hand? So says the defeated. Not to worry... remember I can keep an eye on them from here. https://t.co/jQBCDV5O3W

At least he didn't choose Caribou Barbie as Russian Ambassador.

Read the room. He's mocking Palin, not Russia.

Well, unlike US-Russia border russians and chinese can actually watch each other over the border which is actually a river. So mocking kinda fails here.
But he's not mocking Russians. Or the Chinese. Or the Russia/China border.... The actual conditions of the entire border have no bearing on the mockery.

Failing to do something that wasn't the goal is not really a failure...

He fails to mock Palin when he choose to use specific and tiny and isolated western part of of the border not realizing that Russia and China has extensive border in the East with a lot of cities and towns located at the said border (because border is a river for the most of it)

Not at all.
The opposite, in fact.
You have to work kinda hard to find a spot that's technically Alaskan land where, on a clear day, you can kinda see land that technically is Russian. If unpopulated. Two tiny and isolated islands. And certainly not the location of the Governor's Mansion.

Out of all the spots along the border where you can see China, he chose a spot where it nearly impossible. Making mockery of Palin's pretense to authority on US-Russian relations by virtue of her position as Governor.

Or was it making mockery of her pretense to being the governor?

I know it was required, but DAMN! Thanks, barbos. :p

That's not what happened here. He looked at the map and saw that China and Russia has tiny border, missing the one on the East.

Barbos, I also understood it as mocking of Palin...me thinketh that you have been staring at the blade too long.

For that to appear funny you have to be bad at geography.
