Trump VS COVID-19 Threat

Unhinged: AOC Says U.S. Gov’t Responsible For Deaths Of “9/11’s Worth” Of Americans - YouTube - Republicans suffering from Ocasio Derangement Syndrome.

AOC Squad member Rep Ayanna Pressley accuses the Trump administration of war crimes - YouTube - she said that it was "like" war crimes. That gives me a thought. It would be fun to drag Trump to the International Court of Justice at The Hague in Holland. Let him face a trial for his actions. Let him turn into a civil libertarian, demanding for himself what he does not want for others.

This is fun: Ilhan Omar on Twitter: "🚨 Whenever people try to tell you you don’t love America if you criticize Donald Trump, show them this. https://t.co/rMUN1vDJkK" / Twitter - saying the US is far from a great nation.

From a few days back: Schumer, AOC demand Fed. burial assistance for NY - YouTube - good social distancing: nobody near the two politicians.

Ah yes. Killery's deplorable's! Half the American population are all deplorable morons because they have a different opinion than most of you lot. In case you forgot, the Soviet Union [ to you're consternation I may add ] collapsed many decades ago. Never mind. Cuba and Venezuela aren't all that far away and are beckoning.

Anyone else appreciate the irony of someone bemoaning intolerance of dissenting political views instantly condemning anyone 2.3mm leftward of his opinions, collectively dumping them with Cuba and Venezuela?

A fine one to bemoan intolerance when all I read in your posts are hate and intolerance of Trump and lumping all conservatives and those with differing views to your own as not worthy!

Well, you gotta admit he has the facts to back that up. This is about a guy who pushed a drug that kills people at a higher rate and all his sycophants wanted to force it on an entire state. So... there's that, as just tone example.

Your inability to read for comprehension isn't the fault of the writer, Angelo. If it's not your own fault, you need to look to your parents who failed to give you the genetics or the education to process information rationally.

You must truly have a very low opinion of Americans as stupid morons

Yes, many of them sound like you. And they elected Donald Trump. What more evidence is needed?

That isn't what she said... and what she actually said (and what Obama said regarding clutching guns, religion, and hate against foreigners) is being demonstrated quite accurately with the Covid-19 protests.

I just have a tough time wrapping my head around the utility of wishing ill on anyone, no matter how much you disagree with their beliefs.
If it were only about disagreeing with their beliefs, you'd be right.

But as usual, you're wrong.

This is more than just disagreeing with someone's beliefs. These fuckheads' beliefs are literally (literally) responsible for getting my loved ones killed. They are actively campaigning for things that will make my families and friends suffer. So fuck them.

Also, this isn't wishing ill on them for sake of wishing ill on them. A more accurate statement might be "I hope they suffer the consequences of their actions". Because that's fucking how life works. If they were the only ones that suffered, it would be better, but they are inflicting suffering on those around them, and they don't fucking care.

So why again should we?

Self-pity. angelo is saying "Nobody has a right to treat us right-wingers the way we treat others."

Choices. If people choose to go to work knowing the consequences, then they can go to work.
I'm going to try to be really patient with this explanation, as I think it's very important.

Choices, in this case, aren't choices about oneself. They're choices about oneself and everyone around one.

A drunk person might be willing to take the risk of driving themselves home after downing five whiskeys. All of the other people that the drunk person endangers, however, haven't been given the chance to weigh in on their choice. Similar for this. A person might be willing to risk their own health, and that of their family, by returning to work. But if they catch the virus, and even worse if they're asymptomatic or are presymptomatic for an extended period, they're making the choice to risk the health of everyone they come into contact with, as well as everyone that comes into contact with those people.
Also, there's the fact that if employers 'open back up' that choice is largely taken away because those people that don't feel safe can no longer claim unemployment. So this whole argument is utterly dishonest from start to finish.

Meanwhile, this morning...

President Ellipsis said:
States are safely coming back. Our Country is starting to OPEN FOR BUSINESS again. Special care is, and always will be, given to our beloved seniors (except me!). Their lives will be better than ever...WE LOVE YOU ALL!
FFS!

I wouldn't be surprised.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Twitter: "GOP is seriously arguing that it’s worth sacrificing the lives of hourly workers so they can get a spray tan again.

Instead they’re fighting against hospital funding." / Twitter

Trump is losing the olds even more.

How the Coronavirus Outbreak Is Impacting Public Opinion - Morning Consult

Older Americans sour on Trump’s handling of the outbreak: As President Donald Trump increasingly signals interest in prioritizing economic interests, America’s senior citizens are growing critical of his approach. In mid-March, this group approved of Trump’s handling of the outbreak at a higher rate than any other age group, with a net approval of +19. A month later, that level of support has dropped 20 points and is now lower than that of any age group other than 18-29-year-olds.

As has been proved time after time. Polls are meaningless.

Nope.

The only poll that counts is the one where creepy and senile Joe and his party will be told where to go in November.

Then why do you keep posting polls?

If you're gonna criticize Joe, you might want to pick a dimension where Trump isn't infinitely worse. For example, Joe's "creepiness" doesn't hold a candle to Trump's serial rape, supported by dozens of women plus his own secretly recorded admission. And if Joe is going senile, you can only tell b/c he has an intellect in the first place that could diminish with age.

For example, if you think it's great when a president supports theocracy and wants to rob half the population of their most basic human right on which all other rights are based, then Trump is definitely your guy.

Did Trump Tweet in 2009 That He Would 'Never Let Thousands of Americans Die From a Pandemic'?

He allegedly tweeted:
Obama’s handling of this whole pandemic has been terrible! As President, ALL responsibility becomes yours during a crisis like this, whether or not you’re entirely to blame. John McCain, and for that matter myself, would never let thousands of Americans die from a pandemic while in office.
But there is no evidence of it before April 2020. So it is a fake. But there are some rather interesting real tweets from him:

Donald J. Trump on Twitter: "Leadership: Whatever happens, you're responsible. If it doesn't happen, you're responsible." / Twitter
2013 Nov 8

"In contrast, Trump said in March 2020 that, “I don’t take responsibility at all” when asked about the lack of testing in the United States for COVID-19."

Donald J. Trump on Twitter: "Biden/Obama were a disaster in handling the H1N1 Swine Flu. Polling at the time showed disastrous approval numbers. 17,000 people died unnecessarily and through incompetence! Also, don’t forget their 5 Billion Dollar Obamacare website that should have cost close to nothing!" / Twitter
2020 Apr 17
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 12,469 people died in the United States from the H1N1 pandemic in 2009, not 17,000. Obama’s approval rating also wasn’t “disastrous.” A poll conducted by the Washington Post and ABC News over the course of several months in 2009 showed that Obama’s approval rating for his handling of the H1N1 pandemic ranged from the high 60s to the high 50s. Also, the “Obamacare” website cost much less than $5 billion.

Obama's swine flu response was such a disaster that Trump never once tweeted about it until this year.

He did made dozens of tweets about ebola though, like this one,

trump ebola quarantines.JPG

But my favorite is,

trump obama embrace ebola.JPG

2 people, healthcare workers, caught ebola while in the US.

One of them was Nina Pham who did get a hug from Obama.

obama nina pham.jpg

The other was Amber Joy Vinson who got one from Dubya.

bush amber joy vinson.jpg

Not that Trump should be hugging anyone who has covid, they've been through enough.

Internal V.A. memo shows some workers get only two masks per month - "Rachel Maddow shares an internal Veterans Affairs memo that outlines how PPE is to be rationed to medical center workers, with employees in a higher priority group getting five masks to last two weeks and employees in a lower priority group receiving only two masks meant to last four weeks."

With another rent bill looming, coronavirus economics become more dire - "Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez talks with Rachel Maddow about the increasing anxiety among her constituents as employment concerns give way to food security concerns and health workers continue to face the coronavirus under-equipped."

Ocasio-Cortez: Congress abdicating responsibility while people die - "Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez expresses her frustration with another "small potatoes" coronavirus relief bill that will not adequately address Americans' economic anxieties while Congress is expected to take even more time off and Americans continue to die from COVID-19 by the thousands every day."

Where testing is possible, way more coronavirus cases turn up than predicted - "Rachel Maddow looks at some of the few instances in the United States where coronavirus testing has been possible beyond people who are already symptomatic, and the results have revealed a surprising number of positive cases."

Mitch McConnell calls big firms getting loans 'interesting debate' - sure, sure (sarcasm) - "Large companies that took small-business loans included Ruth’s Chris, which received a $20 million loan, and the Potbelly sandwich chain, which received $10 million. Another large chain, Shake Shack, said it will return the $10 million it received."

House Democrats push proxy voting over Republican pushback - POLITICO
Democrats are pushing ahead with historic changes to House rules despite vocal GOP opposition, setting the stage for a potential showdown on the floor when lawmakers return Thursday.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her deputies are drafting a temporary overhaul of the chamber’s rules that would permit lawmakers to cast votes by proxy for their colleagues, allowing them to go on record without leaving home during the coronavirus outbreak.
Though many Republicans oppose the idea, some Republicans support it.
Many Democrats, and some Republicans, say a system of proxy-voting would allow Congress to function far more robustly than it has during this crisis. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), a supporter of remote voting, sought to add language to a Senate bill on Tuesday that would allow remote voting "if necessary." McConnell rejected it on the floor.

...
The House proposal is a more low-tech version of electronic voting that some members have supported. It would allow lawmakers who are unable to come into the Capitol to still go on record for the massive relief bills — the biggest of their congressional careers — by being paired with a member in the Capitol who casts their vote.

...
The push to create a proxy voting system in the House comes as a growing number of lawmakers on both sides have fiercely criticized Congress for being seen as missing from their posts — even as lawmakers work furiously from their districts to assist struggling businesses, health facilities and local governments. Some Democrats also fear they're not doing enough publicly to be a counterpoint to President Donald Trump, who holds daily press news on the coronavirus that often run over two hours.

...
Some Republicans, like Reps. Liz Cheney of Wyoming and Elise Stefanik of New York, have been vocal in calling for remote voting — at least on a temporary basis. But even some GOP lawmakers who support the idea say Democrats are attempting to make the historic changes unilaterally instead of working with Republicans.
This is stupid. Absurdly behind the times. Is it that hard to implement secure electronic voting? I remember from AOC's orientation Instagram video that each Congressmember gets a secure smartphone and a secure tablet. Seems like what one would need for voting, right? They could videoconference with that hardware, I'm sure, so one has a video record of a vote.
