Didn't he say that it's all about Tylenol? Then it's vaccines. Then Tylenol. The guy can't make up his mind. I guess evidence based doesn't compute to him.

My experience is that when people talk about evidence based it means that they have ignored the evidence. People who really look at the evidence, don't use that term.

Studies have not ruled out the possibility that Tylenol causes autism.

Studies don't rule out causes; That's not what studies DO.

Studies have ruled out the statistical likelihood that childhood vaccination plays any role whatsoever in autism. Which is as good as it gets - and certainly is more than sufficient to render "vaccines do not cause autism" an accurate and evidence-based claim, that the CDC should be making loudly and clearly.

Ya. He puts it in writing that the payoff fund is dead. Then he gets to be Attorney General and he writes another memo that it's alive again, just as Trump said he wanted over the weekend.

So lets see. This Todd Blanche wanted to initiate one of the most unethical actions to come out of the Attorney General's office in years. Why are we even considering this guy? It's no high moral standard to have to be forced to stop doing something so unethical. His about face is not some ethical awakening. And he'll just try to do it again.

This of course is on top of his Trump dealing rollout of the Epstein files and his own weaponization of the injustice department to make the sick fuck in the white house happy.

These people are so unethical. It's disgusting.

This Blanche will do any unethical act that Trump tells him to do.

They are relying on the pervasive lack of understanding among the laypeople of how science actually works to propagate their misinformation. It is quite easy to do.

The problem is an education system that allows people to graduate high school with zero usable understanding of science or epistemology.

Most students drop science like a hot brick as soon as it is permitted; And what little "science" they are taught prior to that is generally presented as facts to memorize (and to forget as soon as their pens hit the desk at the end of their final exam). No wonder teenagers generally think of science as "boring".

Knowing that the Relative Molecular Mass of O2 is a bit more than 32, isn't very useful to anyone who isn't planning a career in the sciences, and does nothing to help people understand why vaccines are safe, or why they are important.

Critical thinking and epistemology are hardly mentioned in education for that vast majority of people who don't take an undergraduate philosophy module as part of a degree level course.

IMO, schools should start at the primary level with teaching kids how to think logicslly and reasonably, how to avoid their own cognitive errors, and how to spot errors, falsehoods, and lies told to them by others.

But no such skills are formally taught prior to the tertiary level, and any attempts to introduce them at primary school would be viciously opposed by parents and churches, due to their corrosive effect on belief.

Parents don't want kids who can spot when they are being consistently misled by adults.
