• Welcome to the Internet Infidels Discussion Board.

Well... it's Trump... again. #47, here we go.

Someone should have slipped Zelenskyy a black MAGA hat before it all kicked off.

Michael Steele called Trump's rant (which even included Hillary!! Jesus, the man is insane) a "cesspool of stupidity."
As if anyone cares what Michael Steele says.

At this point, unless someone actually DOES something I will just ignore what people SAY.
Who right now has the power to hamstring this administration? What action seems possible to you? I'm stumped. About the only positive thought I have this morning is that Trump's cruelty and insanity yesterday could throw his poll numbers into an irreparable slump. That might, might, inspire those in his party who are just hanging with him out of cowardice to bail.

Until that actually happens, nothing has happened.

Or...imagine if a grassroots boycott of all American goods started up among our "allies", which can be defined at this point as those free countries which have looked at us a horror show since Jan. 20. I can't believe the Canadians aren't already bypassing our products in their shopping -- even back in the 80s, many Canadian stores I went into had 'American made' signs up to inform the shoppers what they were buying. Trump's craziness has to have intensified this phenom.

Has anyone mentioned that the shadow president and the MAGAs are now threatening to impeach judges who criticize or rule against Trump? Although it will be impossible to achieve since they would need 67 Senators to vote for impeachment, one or two Republicans in Congress have already mentioned wanting to impeach one of the judges in California. I'll have to see if I can find a link as I read about this early this morning, probably in the NYTimes. I think the main purpose is to intimate and scare these judges into going along with Trump. I guess we will see if they have the courage to do the right thing. Just found something on Axios, so I don't have to gift any Times articles yet.

https://www.axios.com/2025/02/16/impeachment-judges-republicans-trump

House Republicans are planning to introduce long-shot articles of impeachment against at least two of the federal judges who have blocked President Trump's efforts to upend the federal government.

Why it matters: The measures are part of a growing public conflict between Republicans and the federal judiciary as Trump bristles at obstacles to his "government efficiency" agenda.

  • Trump further raised the temperature this week by saying at an Oval Office news briefing with DOGE head Elon Musk: "Maybe we have to look at the judges because I think that's a very serious violation."
  • Vice President J.D. Vance has also suggested that federal judges have been overstepping their authority and "aren't allowed to control the executive's legitimate power."
Driving the news: Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.) is working on articles of impeachment against U.S. District Court Judge John J. McConnell Jr., who ordered the administration to lift its federal spending freeze, Clyde's office confirmed to Axios.

  • In a post on X this week, Clyde called McConnell a "partisan activist weaponizing our judicial system to stop President Trump's funding freeze on woke and wasteful government spending."

Yawn. They want to impeach anyone disapproving of Naziism. The rest of us want to impeach Trump and his cabal of enablers in Congress.
Go back to sleep;
NOBODY IS GETTING IMPEACHED

It’s just more performative nonsense to distract from the process of destroying democracy. Soon there will be no need for impeachments; disappearances will be the order of the day in ‘Murka.

Or defenestrations, like Trump’s idol performs.

It doesn't mean Trump won't fire them. He can't, but doesn't mean that he won't. We are in uncharted territory.

When your toddler screams at all hours, is never satisfied, shrieks at you with anger, has learned a few words, but all of them are cursewords and obscene insults, shits all over your house even though you thought he had started to learn his hygiene lessons -- that's the point at which the specialists need to sit you down, tell you that they've examined your youngster from all angles, and in the final analysis, he's a flaming bowel movement from Satan. And he can't be impeached.

If you’re the Apricot, that’s a great reason to fire all the specialists prophylactically.

Trump really is an idiot.

He thinks tariffs will move manufacturing jobs here. That6 would take a decade or more to ramp up. With factory automation i9 will have a negligible impact on unemployment. j

As inflation is tending up again, people pay more, and people start losing jobs Trump will not look good.

All those government employees fired will not be spending money at businessmen. There will be a ripple effect in the economy.

This is how he ran his businesses that failed.

There was a Republican idiot on Meet The Press that said China will reduce it's prices to match the tarriffs.

China has been in financial touble for some time according to reporting.

A dding to it is a declining population, not enough people to keep thee economy growing in the future.

I doubt China could reduce prices.

Conservatives like Trump think we are in the 19th century. Trump thinks we can be entirely indented form the rest of world, indignant of the level of the global economic interconnection.

It was the low labor costs and the opening of China that led a mass migration of American industry to China. China was very smart. As a condition for cheap manufacturing Americans had to train Chinese workers and transfer technology. What we did nit give them they stole.

We did it to ourselves, or our own capital did it to ourselves in the search to maximize profit.

Before China here was Japan and Taiwan for cheap electronics manufacturing.

You can read the Chines progression from Mao to the opening of China online. After the chaos and devastation of Maoism in order top quickly modernize China decided to open to western investment.

The CCP has a;ways been working to a long term plan. They got very good at developing and executing 5 year plans. Their rise from a Maoist 3rd world country to a modern economic power is remarkable.

We are totally unable to politically act in any kind of unison to a long term goal.

Trump will claim a phamra compnay moving here as a win. They create 500 jobs in the new plant while millions of others have the costs passed on to them in the form of higher prescription prices.

What about a car that has engines made in Canada, transmissions made in Mexico and the car is assembled here.

This movement is still running. Canadians boo'd thr US anthem at the PPV WWE wrestling event this past weekend. Canadians are pissed at America and that isn't a normal thing for the nation.

I heard recently that Canadian pride is so high, even Quebecers feel like Canadians.
