Well... it's Trump... again. #47, here we go.

What are the judges going to do? Fury is ineffective. Trump doesn't care. He isn't embarrassed; He isn't even concerned about loss of public support. Shit, his voting base actively admire him for enfuriating the judiciary.

The judges can hold the political appointees in contempt. Eventually throw them in jail. Trump will pardon the fuckers. But more people will hear of Trump's lawlessness.
It would be DOJ employees that would have to do the incarcerations. Trump's DOJ.

Trump: My wife says, you shouldn't be dancing on the stage, by the way. You should walk off with a gentle wave. Goodbye. When the gay national anthem plays, you know, it's called the gay national anthem, actually. I got the highest gay vote of any Republican in history. She said, 'You should not dance off the stage, my darling.'

And don't talk about the swimming. Where you look left and you look right, and then you look a little further right and you see the largest human being you've ever seen. Larger than Shaquille O'Neal, with a bigger reach.

And the swimmer got hurt badly because she suffered massive wind burn. Because the giant to her right swam by her so fast that the wind was unbelievable. For the rest of her life, she'll be suffering from windburn.
Wut?!?

So, in trying to track down the context where his statement about windburn while swimming didn't seem like that of a damned lunatic, I discovered this isn't a one-time thing.

Trump then turned to swimming.

"Some women are being badly injured by the windburn that's caused by the man going so much faster," said Trump. "The wind is blowing. It's just terrible. It's so unfair."
The accurate context is apparently Trump is a "fucking lunatic".

The company that cut down the trees should be arrested and/or sued.
Doubtful they knew anything about the judge's ruling. The company is blameless.
So it is ok to break the law if you don’t know you are breaking the law? Does the company have any due diligence to check if what they are doing has the appropriate legal approvals?

I would imagine that this kind of thing would require permits but I could be wrong.

Who would they ask?
Did you show the electrician your deed when they worked on your wiring?
If a contract comes through 'official' channels, you assume it's official.

My contractor had to get a permit from the city before even modifying my kitchen, which included minor changes to electric outlets and plumbing.

I don't know what, if anything, "official" came down to these contractors, so we should find that out before we assume that there was anything official they received. Did they receive permission from the National Park Service? Did their work undergo National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) Section 106 Review or National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Clearance?

Is it ok for them to cut the trees if they don't know they have to do those reviews or seek clearance? simply because they were told by the President to do so? I think a [reputable] contractor shouldn't "assume" things about their permissions to perform actions such as this.

If it was the NPS that gave approval despite the judge’s order then perhaps they are indeed responsible. I just don’t think the government will hold itself accountable so perhaps the contractors need to be punished as “accomplices” to discourage other contractors from participating in and thus potentially preventing these illegal activities. I assume you would agree that the laws should be followed in these instances. If we wait for a new government to stop these actions and hold anyone responsible a lot of damage can be done before that happens.

What in the absolute eff is he getting at here? Seriously? Is this about TG women? I'm so confused.

Of course! The company is FAR from blameless!

If while we wait for a new government to stop these actions and hold anyone responsible a lot of damage can will be done before that happens.
FTFY.

I see no clear path to avoiding a long wait, nor any other mechanism than a change of government by which anyone will stop these actions.

The courts will say "Stop", the abuses won't stop, and the courts will say "Stop, or we will say 'stop' again!".

And if a city official told your contractor to do something, how far would he question it?
Conservatives don't question authority as much as we do.
Someone from the white house hired them to chop trees. It was that person's duty to secure the permits.
The hired help will not be charged.

Thats why we need to know who gave them the permissions. Was it the NPS? Or just the White House.

In my case the contractor would know if it was the appropriate city authority (permit office) or just some politician on the city board who was my buddy.

Perhaps if they don’t get considered accomplices to a crime it at least would flag them in the future as not a reputable contractor so others can decide to hire them or not.

Why is the Dow ~40,500 in the video?

Rhetorical question. Jebus, that clip is from before the 2024 election!
