What comes next after the Trump win?

Ya know, in his first term the people around him in the White House would try to keep him from doing his craziest ideas, distract him, whatever to prevent his bullshit from completely fucking over the country. In his new term he has a whole different team, that will talk him out of stuff, and distract him, so they can completely fuck over the country with their even crazier bullshit. He doesn't want a theocracy, but the people around him are likely to push for it, and just use him to get it done.
That's spot on.

The Evangelical leadership that has so faithfully supported him know his very existence is contrary to what they believe. He's just the primary tool to achieve their own goals.

As long as the Terrible Orange can save his own skin, he doesn't give the slightest fuck about what's happening to the country.

He's right. He's the greatest President, ever. He's a great Christian, as well. He's made me say "Jesus Christ" in a loud, imploring voice more times than any other human being on this planet. Donald John Trump, my President, and purveyor of aftershave, golden shoes, and Chinese Bibles. All hail.

Can you believe that the U.S. is talking about the Panama Canal and Greenland....only because one mentally unbalanced human has them on his radar?
Never let anyone tell you that one individual cannot influence history. Here's an individual whose lies and lunacies direct a whole nation.

I read an article earlier this morning that said that Trump is backing down from the grandiose promises he made during his campaign e.g. the war in Ukraine, lower prices on everything, etc.

To me this is encouraging. His I Will Fucking Say Anything To Stay Out Of Prison campaign was just that and now he can spend the next X number of years in Florida golfing, sending out retarded tweets, gulping down all the McDonalds hamberders he can swallow, and ideally, dying.

"Will not be going overseas to speak with socialist criminals when I can do it on Facetime. Fuck you!"

-President Donald J. Trump

We can refer to him as an example of the Grate Man Theory. :devilish: ;)

He appears to be admitting that he has "absolutely no idea what he is doing".
Genius. If there is genius to Trump, that's it right there. He can admit to ANYTHING, right up front, no matter how illegal, unethical, immoral - doesn't matter. "It's a good thing, really!" whether it's extortion, witness intimidation, jury tampering, obstruction. IT DOESN'T matter, because the wolf is at the door, the Democrats want to do nothing about it, and I alone can fix it. It's the updated and better reinforced (by SCOTUS) version of Nixon's (?) trope "If the President does it, it can't be illegal".
"All these guys who know what they're doing - they don't know anything! I know more than the generals, and some of them are stupid!"
And the greater MAGATry sighs in relief, thinking "finally someone tells the truth about those idiots, and left wing socialists freak out".

I've heard this so many times, and it always leaves me speechless. Some guy makes the most superficial claims to being a polymath genius, and these folks lap it up. The example that sticks in my mind: a local woman, Republican, and once our mayor, wrote in to a local paper back in 2017 that she was doubtful about Trump until she heard him say on her TV -- hold your breath -- "I know how the world works!" At that moment, this lady knew she'd connected with the American future. (Reading that was also the precise moment that I vowed never again to vote for any Republican at any ballot level. They're infected with this stuff, and sticking with the party tells me all I need to know about them.)

This photo is so typically Trump. It was on CNN this morning.

It says, "If I stand here and scowl, my idiots will think I know what I'm doing but I reality haven't a clue."

BTW, his bronzer looks really sick in that photo...or was he doing a farm policy tour, and got some blowback from a fertilizer spreader? Perhaps it's the lighting.

This is the look of a man who is surrounded by people who are either afraid to tell him "that's not a good look," and/or people who no longer care, and are just in it for the grift.

And ideologyhunter is absolutely right about the bronzer. He looks worse than Kramer when he fell asleep in a tanning bed. At least that was even.
