Note:

I saw Harold and Maude because a friend ordered me to. I had no idea what to expect.

Few people wanted to see it, apparently, but it showed at the same time as a popular movie that was sold out, so people who wanted to see the other movie went to Harold and Maude instead.

As we went into the theater, we heard grudging comments like, "This better be good."

The moment pictured above triggered the first ovation. I've never seen a movie get an ovation before (or after) but this one got three.
