What movie(s) would you show to a US founder?

I'd make them watch, "Blazing Saddles" and the "Shaft" movies, so they would learn how smart and cool the people they enslaved really were. Fucking racist founders!
I was thinking somewhat along those lines but I would show them Hidden Figures instead.

Slavery was a hugely divisive issue back then. Showing the Founders what America was capable of achieving when slavery was ended, sexism and racism were openly fought, and the circumstances of one's birth didn't prevent them from contributing their best to a common effort, would hopefully give them something to think about when they wrote the Bill of Rights.

I would also show them 1776 so they could see how they were remembered. Franklin would get a good laugh, I'm sure. Maybe not the rest of the Continental Congress, though :D

Sit down, John!

Oh, most of them opposed slavery. In private conversation, or deathbed bequests, or in between the lines of some letter that some historian found later...

Turns out, knowing something is evil does not dissuade people in power from doing whatever wicked thing is most profitable for themselves and for their heirs.

I would show them the film Tombstone, to indicate that "an armed society is a polite society".

*ear-splitting laughter* 😋
