What music are you listening to right now? (Warning: Lotsa videos)

Bach's Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major, BWV 1068, 2nd Mvmnt.

An old chestnut of a piece, but with vibrato-less baroque strings and lute, it has, to my ear anyway, a country/bluegrass twang to it. Then there's the pretty pichas....

Henri Vieuxtemps' Violin Concerto No. 4 in D minor, with Arthur Grumiaux as soloist and Manuel Rosenthal conducting the Orchestre Lamoreux.

Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 5 in A, with Anne-Sophie Mutter as violinist and the Berlin Philharmonic conducted by Herbert von Karajan. This was Mutter's first recording; she was 15 at the time it was made.

Mozart's opera Don Giovanni, with Cesare Siepi as the Don, Fernando Corena as Leporello, Lisa della Casa as Donna Elvira, Suzanne Danco as Donna Anna, Anton Dermota as Don Ottavio, Hilde Gueden as Zerlina and Wlater Berry as Masetto, and with Joseph Krips conducting the Vienna State Opera Chorus and the Vienna Philharmonic.

Charles Ives' Violin Sonata No. 4, "Children's Day at the Camp Meeting," with Hilary Hahn as violinist and Valentina Lisitsa as pianist.
