What music are you listening to right now? (Warning: Lotsa videos)

Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 18 in B flat, with Murray Perahia as pianist and also conducting the English Chamber Orchestra.

Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 2 in G, with Bernd Glemser as pianist and Antoni Wit conducting the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra.

On the way home I listened to Kacey Musgraves' "Pageant Material" for the first time.

Every single song put a smile on my face.

Grace Jones is pretty fucking kick-ass. What I like about Grace Jones isn't so much that it's good. It isn't. It's more like... wtf am I listening to. I put her in the same category as Madonna. Just too big for the planet.

And to top it off... Nigger Arabesque... no it's not racist. It's the actual name of this piece of art. Yes, Grace Jones named it.

My hat is off to Grace Jones. Thanks for just existing.

edit: I didn't manage to figure out how the video links work. If anybody can tell me, please do

Recently obtained two a-ha live concerts Homecoming (Minor Earth, Major Sky) and The Final Note (farewell concert). Ripped them and listening to the MP3's. The Homecoming album is real fun, a ton from Minor Earth, Major Sky. The Final Note was a more complete cross section of their catalog. I really want to get their concert for Analogue, though I think that is a limited set list. The Final Note is blu-ray, so sounds (looks) better.

Really love final chapter a-ha, an extremely underexposed band in the US post Take On Me. Their albums post '00 are just brilliant, much better than their earlier albums.

This is kind of funny. Cyndi Lauper (who was very big in Japan) is next to a mousy voiced woman who breaks into a very strong voiced traditional (western influenced) song.

This is a song without the karaoke reverb. Very clean tone she has. Song starts at 30 seconds:

This songs like a really old american song in its structure. Almost like written around the same time as "The old folks at home"
