I'd heard that this song would put you to sleep pretty fast, and I struggle with insomnia.


So I put in my earbuds and started listening. It had the opposite effect. I wound up staying up to listen closely to the entire album.

I remember this from when it first came out. I've got the record (and can recognize the backing track here) and remember how Vai recorded the song. He'd not played in awhile, so his callouses were not up to par, and as a result his fingers bled from the effort he put into the solo.

It is weird to see this woman playing the same track with such casual detachment.
