Don't be a dick.
Get the damn kids out of the cages and back with their parents.

The same things Obama had to do. Help dig the country out of recession and continue working on a better health care solution.

I would like to see both judges Brett Kavanaugh and Clarence Thomas impeached for perjury.

Change the date of general elections to the first Saturday of November. Could solve a lot of issues.

Yeah. If they want to maintain their hold in 2022, they’ll be focused here. This is going to take awhile to get out of. Poor earnings will beget layoffs will beget reduced consumer spending will beget poor earnings.
And of course build out Obamacare 2.0 while they can. The more folks get used to it, the less the Asshole Party will be able to strip away in the future.
Everything else is subordinate.

FIRE EVERY SINGLE TRUMP APPOINTEE AND EVERYONE HIRED BY A TRUMP APPOINTEE
Let migrant farm workers back in the country.
Give Texas land owners their land back.
Get rid of Trump tariffs
Reinstate the intelligence agencies and the EPA
Increase SCOTUS to 11 members
Impeach unqualified Trump judges
Arrest the Trump crime family

There's a lot to do.

Pick the US out of another hole, only to get replaced by the GOP again in 4 years because... the American public is stupid.

W.H.:
1) Fumigate.
2) Check petty cash.
3) Clean sweep to round up Big Mac wrappers, Jared's spare Euro Thongs, etc.
4) Wake up Melania & tell her she missed Last Call.
5) Orkin: 2nd round of fumigation.
6) Call the Baptist Southern Convention & have them get their preachers back.

Executive order revoking every single executive order FFvC made.

Do NOT repeat Obama's mistake of 'looking forwards instead of looking backwards'. Investigate every fucking aspect of the idiot's administration, every political appointment, every secret communication, everyone's finances, every congressman that gave him cover. Subpoena the shit out of everyone involved.

Yes, investigate... But actually make sure to schedule in legislation that was held in the graveyard. For every week that they spend on investigation and hearings, we need a day where we docket the work of this congress back through. We managed legislation during an impeachment, we can manage it through several.

We cannot use merely rebuilding as an excuse to ignore the problems that got us here.

I agree. I'm talking about police, FBI, and any pertinent intelligence agency, or other government agency, investigating. Not congressional sideshows that get muddled by people trying to cover their party's ass. Congress will have plenty to do, with one of the biggest being protecting voting rights, and undoing gerrymandering. I'd say get money out of politics too, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Thing is, with Obama, there were a lot of pieces of important legislative need. Few if any went seriously addressed under the cover of giving corporations money for stock buy-backs and a massive health insurance free for all clusterfuck.

They won't, though. Democrats barely give a shit about brown kids any more than Republicans do, once the campaign season is over. You'll just hear a whole bunch and hand-waving explanations about what a complex issue it is and how we need to take things slow and organize a meaningful response that has bipartisan support and respects the needs of all parties including the for profit prisons where the kids are being kept.

Type example is Guantanamo Bay. During the campaign: banner issue of great importance. After: mostly a bunch of finger-pointing and postulatory explanations. Result: Still in operation, with an executive order guaranteeing its indefinite operation, presumably until the detainees have all died. The number of detainees has decreased due to both deaths and transfers, but several have been there now for 18 years, without a trial.

White people do not need a reason to strip minorities of their rights, just a pretext. And "the Republicans are the ones who really did it, we can't undo it easily" is more than enough pretext for the establishment Democrats.

Feel free to disagree with me, as in this case I would really love to be proven wrong. I just don't expect to be.

What should be the first things done if the Dems take the Senate and Presidency?

I do not have high hopes for the Biden presidency, so my expectations here are correspondingly low.

I do deeply hope to see, if nothing else, an immediate and purposeful project to restaff vacant government positions (first) and (second) replacement of unqualified administrators with those who have either degrees or relevant experience in connection with the departments they are heading.

Then, the budget fight.

And send them all home as a family.

Exactly. Nobody wants to separate children and their parents. But neither should people be waved into the US just because they happen to be travelling with children.
EU is making the same mistake. They now (yes, despite the Corona crisis) want to take in illegal mass migrant (mostly from Afghanistan) children stuck in camps on Aegean islands. But of course, that means they have to take in their families too. So, it pays to drag your children with you when travelling illegally (or even better, get your wife pregnant in Moria) to get a free, all expenses paid, ticket into EU.

LOL - nope.

Well, with the sudden high employment and joblessness, the Dems should run on a platform of allowing mass migration to compete with citizens for jobs. That'd be a winner.

If the democrats get full power back, they should just focus on healthcare. Healthcare is a very important issue to most Americans and needs much improvement.

A long list:
  • Act like a ruling party
  • Don't apologize to the Republicans
  • Don't compromise in advance with the Republicans
  • Try to have a "public option" for Obamacare
  • Decouple healthcare from employment - need not be single-payer
  • Don't spend too much time on healthcare - that was the undoing of the Clinton and Obama presidencies
  • Abolish the filibuster, or at least weaken it
  • Outlaw gerrymandering
  • Introduce mutlimember House districts, or at least allow them
  • Consider proportional representation
  • Abolish the Electoral College
  • Admit the District of Columbia as a state
  • Consider admitting Puerto Rico as a state
  • Push renewable energy very hard
  • Push high-speed trains
  • Push urban-rail systems
  • Consider expanding public housing and fixing existing public housing
