I, for one, have never had my brother shot to death by a Police officer, so it would be difficult for me to place myself in this man's shoes. Also, I'm white, and self loathing just isn't my thing.

Certainly this can't be taken as a sign he has something against white people.

I'm sure you will get around to telling us how this excuses the comment made by Rep. Pittenger any time now.

Or that he was grieving at the time, and said some things that he may later regret. When emotions run high, people tend to say things they don't actually mean. What you didn't address, however, is how what this man, who just lost his brother, said has any bearing on what the congresscritter said. The congresscritter was not under the same emotional strain that the brother of the dead man was going through, so he doesn't have the same excuse. Further, he is a politician who was been elected to the US House of Representatives, so we should expect him to choose his words more carefully to avoid disparaging the people who he represents.

I was replying to Elixr's racist claims that black people are justified in hating whites because white people indiscriminately kill black people. Claims like this paint a picture that racial violence is something that white people do, when the reality is that that there are twice as many black-on-white killings than white-on-black killings. The media loves to focus on the latter ones though and thus are inflaming racial animus of blacks against whites.
