"White Supremacist" charged with Portland arson

You wanted to be tough on crime, so you locked up their Dads. You wanted them to get a job, but you don't believe in livable wages. You want them to be responsible, but you refuse to remediate the lead in the paint in their cheap housing that poisons their brains. You want them to raise families, but not in your neighborhood. You want their obedience, but you don't care about their opinions.

What could possibly go wrong?

They showed video of the shooting on tv today. It did not go down as Trausti portrayed it.

I dunno, it does seem like he was just straight-up murdered. Here's a clearer video"

Yeah, it's those bad BLMers that are the violent ones.

'No Blame?' ABC News finds 54 cases invoking 'Trump' in connection with violence, threats, alleged assaults.

President Donald Trump has repeatedly distanced himself from acts of violence in communities across America, dismissing critics who point to his rhetoric as a potential source of inspiration or comfort for anyone acting on even long-held beliefs of bigotry and hate.

"I think my rhetoric brings people together," he said last year, four days after a 21-year-old allegedly posted an anti-immigrant screed online and then allegedly opened fire at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, killing 22 and injuring dozens of others.

But a nationwide review conducted by ABC News has identified at least 54 criminal cases where Trump was invoked in direct connection with violent acts, threats of violence or allegations of assault.

After a Latino gas station attendant in Gainesville, Florida, was suddenly punched in the head by a white man, the victim could be heard on surveillance camera recounting the attacker’s own words: “He said, ‘This is for Trump.'" Charges were filed but the victim stopped pursuing them.

When police questioned a Washington state man about his threats to kill a local Syrian-born man, the suspect told police he wanted the victim to "get out of my country," adding, "That’s why I like Trump."

Exactly.

Who does?
Based on LP's previous comments, I would assume he is speaking about Trump wanting to pour gasoline on the fire.

Probably, but based on his reply, I would think he is accusing Wheeler, unless he misunderstood the post he was replying to. I suspect that Loren misunderstood the post, but I'm asking to confirm that.

The gas-pourer is His Flatulence.

Ah, okay, thanks for the clarification. Then it seems you misunderstood the post when you said "Of course he's refused--he doesn't want to quell the problem, he wants to throw gas on the fire". Trump did not refuse. On the contrary, he offered to send the National Guard, but the mayor refused.

I meant the "help" was refused because it was actually part of the problem, not part of the solution.

Oh, so the two "he" meant different people. That's what wasn't clear.

Suspect in Fatal Portland Shooting Is Killed by Officers During Arrest

He told Vice News he acted in self defense and the defense of another: Man Linked to Killing at a Portland Protest Says He Acted in Self-Defense. That may have been an exaggeration. It looks like all Danielson had was a can of mace.

Bear spray. While I don't believe it's legal to respond to bear spray with bullets I would have a very hard time convicting someone in a situation like that.

I also wonder if the officer's reports are accurate.

Unsealed documents shed light on moments before fatal downtown Portland shooting

KGW8 said:
Rico Beniga, a homicide detective with the Portland Police Bureau, details his firsthand account of the crime scene in the affidavit. He explains seeing Danielson appearing to have been shot, as well as a bear deterrent spray can that had been hit by a bullet. Nearby was an extendable baton, which Danielson was seen in security footage holding in his hands before the shooting.

Police removed a loaded handgun from Danielson's waistband and collected it as evidence. A casing was also found near Danielson's body.

Earlier that evening, according to the affidavit, Danielson can be seen carrying a bear spray can and baton near a parking garage where Reinoehl is also seen. The security footage from Moda Tower, located at 601 SW 3rd Avenue, shows Danielson and a man identified in the affidavit as his friend, Chandler Pappas, crossing Southwest 3rd Avenue, and Reinoehl and a second person following them. The shooting happened out of view of that camera.

Danielson had bear spray, a baton, and a loaded handgun. Looks like he was ready to rumble.

I wonder if we'll be hearing from the eyewitnesses now that the murder case has been dropped. They should be free to talk to the press.

Revealed: pro-Trump activists plotted violence ahead of Portland rallies

Leaked chat logs show Portland-area pro-Trump activists planning and training for violence, sourcing arms and ammunition and even suggesting political assassinations ahead of a series of contentious rallies in the Oregon city, including one scheduled for this weekend.

The chats on the GroupMe app, shared with the Guardian by the antifascist group Eugene Antifa, show conversations between Oregon members of the Patriots Coalition growing more extreme as they discuss armed confrontations with leftwing Portland activists, and consume a steady diet of online disinformation about protests and wildfires.

At times, rightwing activists discuss acts of violence at recent, contentious protests, which in some cases they were recorded carrying out. At one point, David Willis, a felon currently being sued for his alleged role in an earlier episode of political violence, joins a discussion about the use of paintballs.

Where other members had previously suggested freezing the paintballs for maximum damage, Willis wrote: “They make glass breaker balls that are rubber coated metal. They also have pepper balls but they are about 3 dollars a ball. Don’t freeze paintballs it makes them wildly inaccurate” [sic.]

Willis did not immediately respond to voice and text messages sent to his listed cellphone number.

Another prolific poster is Mark Melchi, a 41-year-old Dallas, Oregon-based car restorer who claims to have served as a captain in the US army.

Melchi has been recorded leading an armed pro-Trump militia, “1776 2.0” into downtown confrontations in Portland, including on 22 August. At several points in the chat he proposes violence in advance of those confrontations, and appears to confess to prior acts committed in the company of his paramilitary group.

I expect the Trump DoJ to conduct a full investigation, and file charges against...

the Eugene Antifa group regarding how they obtained the chat logs.
