Well, some poor woman lost her shit when she saw a couple outside not wearing a mask and assaults them;

An irate woman reportedly maced a couple in a California dog park because they weren't wearing face masks while they enjoyed a picnic lunch together. Two men have been arrested and charged after allegedly attacking multiple employees at the Trader Joe's location in Murray Hill this month because employees asked them to wear masks.
An NYPD spokesperson says the incident happened around 8:50 p.m. on July 14th at the Trader Joe's located on 32nd Street near 3rd Avenue. Multiple employees asked the two men, who have been identified as 34-year-olds John Carrero and Alejandro Escobar, to leave the premises because they weren't wearing any facial coverings, which is store policy.
The men refused, and instead allegedly turned hostile: cops say they pulled a mask off the face of a 49-year-old male employee, and Carrero hit a 28-year-old female employee in the head with a wooden paddle. One of them pulled the hair of a 57-year-old female employee, and threw objects (including baskets) at other employees. Escobar allegedly threatened, ”Don't make me get my gun,” which cops said caused "fear and alarm to employees and customers inside of the store." The men finally left the store, at which point they grabbed a chair to attempt to break a store window.

As stores, states, and local governments encourage people to wear mask in public, retail workers are bearing the brunt of the backlash. And with such clashes on the rise, there have been a number of violent incidents endangering the lives of workers.

Family Dollar security guard Calvin Munerlyn was shot and killed in early May at one of the retailer's Michigan stores, after telling a shopper that she needed to wear a mask to shop at the store. The shopper's father shot Munerlyn in the back of the head later that day.

Last week, a Waffle House customer opened fire, shooting an employee at the Aurora, Colorado location, after being turned away by a cook for not wearing a mask.

So, who is nuttier, the woman described in the OP, or the assholes who have shot people after being asked to wear a mask to protect others?

The real problem is that we have too many idiots in the US, who when asked to wear a simple face covering to help decrease the spread of a potentially deadly virus, they resort to violence.

Talk about a senseless overreaction, and probably not an appropriate reaction in any way at all. In Ontario it is perfectly legal to be in parks without masks, provided you keep social distancing from people who are not part of your "bubble".

In Victoria, Australia we now have compulsory mask wearing due to massive increase in cases.

Last night in Frankston a woman (not a lady) was seen not wearing a mask by a policewoman. The policewoman told the woman nicely she needed to have a mask on.
The woman attached the policewoman, ripped out a clump of hair, rammed her head into the ground a couple of times and gave a severe concussion.
