The "Nobel" price in economics is awarded to a practicing professional academic (usually an economist, but not always) with a large body of published research, some of which is truly groundbreaking in the field of economics. Mr. Trump has not published research and has not come up with any groundbreaking theories or observations in economics.

So there is no chance in this universe that Donald Trump would win the Nobel Prize in Economics. Just like there is no chance Vladmir Putin or any other world leader would win. It is a giganticly stupid idea.

That is one, but far from the only or most compelling, reason why it couldn't happen.

My dog has a better chance of winning a Nobel in Physics, than Trump has of winning a Nobel in Economics.

The very suggestion that Trump might possibly win is wrong on so many different counts that no sane person could possibly entertain it for a second. The idea is fractally wrong. No matter which way you approach it, or at what level of detail you consider it, it remains mind-bogglingly obvious that the answer to the OP title is "no fucking way".

As an illustration of just how out of touch the remaining Trump supporters are with reality, this thread is exemplary.

When a car is coasting downhill, and you remove the break pedal, it doesn’t instantly stop coasting. Just means it will be a lot more interesting when you come to a curve in the road.

Healthcare, US credibility in the eyes of the rest of the world, any chance of a US budget surplus in the forseeable future just off the top of my head.
 
If you think that Trump knows dick about the economy, you need to start reading Woodward's new book. Trump is entirely clueless about anything related to economics, including how the Fed works etc. He is benefitting from the improving economy that started under the last president. But, even at that, presidents often get a lot more praise or blame than they deserve when it comes to the economy. This has nothing to do with hatred of Trump. It has to do with realizing that the man we call president isn't mentally fit or knowledgable enough to do the job he was elected to do. Plus he's a compulsive liar and has a history of taking advantage of people.
 
I learned from conservatives that the Deep State actually controls the country. This includes a bunch of people on his staff who hid papers on Trump so he wouldn't sign them. So, I guess that means the Deep State deserves the Nobel. However, as laughing dog pointed out, they can't get one. So, I think they should get a Nobel for peace instead.
 
Borrowing and depleting funds for future use can produce a bubble economy.

There is a school loan crisis.

The price of education is rising and so is the debt of students.

Even with a borrowers bubble economy many of these students cannot afford their loans.

When there are suddenly more jobs you have to look at exactly what kinds of jobs are arising.

Kicking out Mexicans will create a need for lawn mowers and weed pickers. And farm pickers.

By any real, objective definitions, the economy is doing what Obama set it up to be, and is about to hit a gigantic deficit wall due to the tax idiocy. Further, although wages are rising, they're not doing so as fast as inflation is eroding them. Worse still, the orange shitbag's definition of "the economy" is just the stock market..which isn't for the vast majority, so corporations (which are NOT people) are wealthier, but employees are not. And since trickle-down has been shown yet again to be a crick of crap. the vast majority are worse off. Worse again, the stupid shitgibbon's deregulation lunacy is leading toward a crash on the 1929 scale. Yeah...trumpo deserves the credit all right - for ruining the world economy.
 
Seems to me that Donald Trump deserves Ig Nobels instead.

An Ig Nobel in Economics for posing as a great businessman when he is more of a professional celebrity.

An Ig Nobel in Peace for his deal with Kim Jong Un.
