Darn these ‘gun free zones’! Don’t they know the only way to stop a shooter is with a good guy with a gun?

What safety can we expect if they don’t let us carry guns in a...*checks article*.. gun store!

The clerk obviously infringed on the guy’s 2nd amendment rights by asking him to not walk around the store with an unholstered loaded weapon.

Uh, wasn’t the shooter quickly killed by others in store? This story doesn’t make the point you’re trying to make.

"A person entered a gun store and shooting range in a New Orleans suburb and fatally shot two people Saturday, prompting customers and staff to open fire on the shooter"

IME, shooting ranges just are not the same without live ammo and loaded weapons. That's just me, though.

Sounds like a suicide-by-customer.

The reality is that almost all mass shootings are in "gun free" zones. This, however, looks to me like a suicide. Obviously the motivations of a suicide are different than a mass shooter, hence the different location.

Agreed.
How refreshing, right?

Let me get myself comfortable whilst I wait for Loren to cite where he gets his "facts" from about guns again. I'm sure this won't take long...

That should do it.

Many, many mass shooters end up committing suicide, and the mass shooting is basically their last "fuck you" to the world.

But they want to take as many with them as they can.

Among the 10 states with highest gun deaths per capita, 7 are among the top 8 in legal gun ownership rate. The other 3 highest gun death states rank 11th, 13th, and 36th in gun ownership, with Missouri being the sole exception to the very strong positive relationship between legal gun ownership and gun deaths.

Duh! Most gun deaths are suicides.

Run that comparison again looking at murders and you get a different result.
So lots of people committing suicide with guns doesn't concern you?

You deal with that by addressing suicide, not by addressing guns. Those willing to use a gun for suicide are not likely to be deterred by not having a gun.

Firearm instructor with schizophrenia. Now I have seen everything
You haven't seen a man eat his own head... or Russia victorious in Ukraine. So at least a couple things linger.

Oh, Indians/Guardians winning the World Series too. Turn on CNN to look for an update on Mexico and the hurricane, and this is what shows up Thank goodness people like Loren and the NRA were able to dictate the terms of access to firearms and we are all that much safer.

who?

Anyway, what's up with schizophrenia patients still having access to guns. Was he even taking drugs?
Or it was like: "You're fine, go to work, you said you were firearm instructor? Just go to work."

It is the boundary line between the state's ability to know your mental health and America's unhealthy obsession with easy access to firearms. Medical information is felt to be very private... where as people want access to firearms to be as easy as possible. No one wants the mentally ill to be armed, but people such as Loren feel it is too inconvenient to let mental illness to get in the way of people being able to have guns. The murders we see are effectively acceptable margin of error for the 2nd Amendment.

Don’t ask too many questions or we’ll sic our heavily armed nutbars on your totally disarmed populace. Do you have 6-8 guns and a few thousand rounds of ammo in your man cave? No?
You’re screwed.
