This is the part where a rational person steps in and says, it isn't that bad. Rubio didn't announce a plan to send US criminals to El Salvador. He merely said, unsolicited, that it was an option. There is no rational way to wrap your head around the statement as anything but a threat. Rubio isn't stupid, he knows what he is saying. I didn't think it'd be this bad ever, forget this bad, this quick.
Who do you think will build the new prisons in El Salvador? The "efficiency savings" made by gutting the FBI, USAID etc will more than cover these sweet contracts.

Just think of the money we can save by moving for-profit prisons to poor countries so we don’t have to pay the prison guards as much as we do in podunk West Virginia or Mississippi? Think of the savings without having any health or safety oversite? It will be the best thing since they moved textile manufacturing from New England to the south and then from the south US to Asia.
