Well... it's Trump... again. #47, here we go.

CDC Researchers Ordered to Retract Papers Submitted to All Journals

— Banned terms must be scrubbed from CDC-authored manuscripts

In the order, CDC researchers were instructed to remove references to or mentions of a list of forbidden terms: "Gender, transgender, pregnant person, pregnant people, LGBT, transsexual, non-binary, nonbinary, assigned male at birth, assigned female at birth, biologically male, biologically female,"

"I've got colleagues pulling papers over Table 1 concerns," an official told me. (Table 1 refers to basic demographic information about the study populations included in research papers, rather than actual results.) Indeed, many studies include demographic information about sexual orientation. For example, a study describing mpox outcomes would likely include basic statistics in tables summarizing the percentage of patients who were vaccinated and were lesbian, gay, transgender, or otherwise. This information can be highly impactful during an outbreak, as it helps clinicians develop policies on who to vaccinate (given limited doses, as is the case with mpox), and even to whom scarce and limited supplies of tests and treatments should be offered to maximize benefits.
In George Orwell's "1984," Winston Smith works in the Records Department of the Ministry of Truth, where his primary job is to rewrite historical documents and information to align with the Party's current narrative, essentially erasing any past events that contradict the Party's desired image, effectively manipulating history to fit their agenda. [quote from internet].
For most people books such as '1984' and 'The Handmaid's Tale' are warnings; to the Republican Party they are guidance manuals.

(Trump, in a Fabio wig, has a sit-down with a hedge fund manager who hasn't watched the news in this century.)
Hedge Fund Manager: This is pretty cute. You want some advice, but you'd like to stay anonymous. I can only know you as "T45-47"?
Trump: That's right.
HFM: Have you been in a fire recently? I don't want you sitting by the air vent if it's uncomfortable.
Trump: No, no fire. I'm here to set up an account.
HFM: Okay, it's just...your face...Okay, there are any number of accounts. Brokerage account...bond fund...trust fund...my area is usually the hedge fund.
Trump (reading from a file card) : It's called a Soviet Wealth Fund.
HFM: You mean the sovereign wealth fund, but that's for countries.
Trump: I am a country.
HFM: You're a country? You're legally a country?
Trump: I have six important guys that think so.
HFM: I feel I should know you, but...okay, you paid for this session, so we'll at least look at the figures. Now, Mr. T45-47, you'd need an income stream to fund this account. How much do you take in, every year?
Trump: 4.5 trillion. That's tax money, it comes to me, you can ask anybody.
HFM: Trillion???
Trump: No, zillion. Is there a ga-zillion, maybe? No, fuck that, it's trillion. I'm positive. Trillion.
HFM: Well, if that's even close, we can certainly get going. Now, do you have outstanding debt?
Trump: (pause) Yyyyyyep.
HFM: How much? Round it to the nearest thousand, anyway.
Trump (mumbles)
HFM: I'm sorry, what?
Trump (mumbles)
HFM: I didn't catch that. I have to know the total.
Trump: Thirty-six trillion!!
HFM (long silence; fiddles with pen, straightens desk) You want to start a sovereign wealth fund with assets of 4.5 trillion and outstanding debt of 36 trillion. You didn't go to business school, did you?
Trump: I went to Wharton!!
HFM: What as, a janitor? Listen, I'm waiving my fee. And there's the door. There are limits. There are limits.
Trump: Fuck you!!
HFM: I still think I should know you. Is the last name...Madoff??

Gifted story from WaPo.

The Brown Shirts are here. Creating fear to express opinions against Trump and his goons.

But of course it's A-OK for Trump post crap that sets his cult goon mob to terrorize innocent people who disagree with him.

U.S. attorney hints at prosecutions over ‘targeting’ of DOGE employees

In an unusual public statement, the interim U.S. attorney said he had found evidence that people had apparently violated the law in ‘targeting’ DOGE employees.

...

Interim D.C. U.S. attorney Edward R. Martin Jr. alleged in a statement Monday that his office had found evidence that people “committed acts that appear to violate the law in targeting” employees of Elon Musk’s “Department of Government Efficiency” — an unusual statement that came without any public criminal charges.

Hours after making public a letter he wrote to Musk saying the U.S. attorney’s office would “pursue any and all legal action against anyone who impedes your work or threatens your people,” Martin posted on X that his “initial review of the evidence” had found wrongdoing and hinted that he planned to take legal action.

...

“They have broken the law,” Musk wrote, reposting the @reddit_lies account’s own message.

...

Barbara McQuade, who served as U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan under President Barack Obama, called Martin’s letter highly unusual and said it appeared designed to silence Musk’s critics.

“It strikes me as an effort to put a chilling effect on people who might be inclined to exercise their First Amendment rights,” said McQuade, a University of Michigan law professor. “That is an abuse of power.”

...

Martin has taken a high profile since Jan. 20, when the conservative activist and commentator became the first U.S. attorney for D.C. in at least 50 years to be appointed without experience as a judge or a federal prosecutor. He fired Capitol riot prosecutors who were recently hired and still on probationary status and ordered top supervisors in the office to investigate their colleagues’ handling of some Jan. 6 prosecutions after President Donald Trump’s mass pardons.

They only have a three seat majority in the Senate, a tiny majority in the House... and it is as if they control every seat.

The US Army Corps of Engineers opened two dams on Friday in Central California and let roughly 2.2 billion gallons of water flow out of reservoirs, after President Donald Trump ordered the release with the misguided intent to send water to fire-ravaged Southern California.

Trump celebrated the move in posts to Truth Social post on Friday and Sunday, declaring, “the water is flowing in California,” and adding the water was “heading to farmers throughout the State, and to Los Angeles.”

There are two major problems, water experts said: The newly released water will not flow to Los Angeles, and it is being wasted by being released during the wet winter season.

“They were holding extra water in those reservoirs because of the risk that it would be a dry summer,” Heather Cooley, director of research for California water policy organization the Pacific Institute. “This puts agriculture at risk of insufficient water during the summer months.”

So he is a criminal, extremely corrupt, authoritarian, cruel, nasty, and also abysmally stupid. But at least he doesn't cackle when he laughs.

Maybe Newsom needs to send the California National guard to secure these reservoirs. If the feds cannot manage them properly the state should take them over.

Sen. Cassidy votes to get RFK Jr. through committee. His Senate approval seems a certain thing. Four GOP Senators are Physicians. It appears all of them will vote to approve a guy that doesn't believe in vaccines.
Sen. Cassidy said:
With the serious commitments I’ve received from the administration and the opportunity to make progress on the issues we agree on like healthy foods and a pro-American agenda, I will vote yes.
Pro-American agenda? We are talking about health care.

Real ‘Murkinz don’t need no stinkin’ health care. Rub some dirt on it.

Seriously, you’d think that the fucking apricot has to approve and sign each and every paycheck these critters get. He certainly wants to make them think that is the case.

Do you think he will share what the “serious commitments” are? Do you think that Trump would honor any “serious commitment”?

Maybe the commitments are that they will commit to not making death threats against his family?

He double triple swore to consider looking into science before enacting on Federal Regulations.

One possible fun aspect of this would be him making a few processed things against the law, making all sorts of foods that normal people eat no longer available. Then the "Get gub'mint out of my house" folks can have their tizzy.

Have you read the MaddAddam Trilogy series or The Heart Goes Last?

Jebus! What is worrying about this, is they apparently have all of this scoured already. If they are adapting Vera's biography... that implies they scraped the entire Government website and used AI to find this stuff. This should be one of the last things to fix up. What else are they erasing?

It certainly looks like this was done to accomplish two things. 1 to give him a "photo op" that he can crow about to his cult and 2 a way to damage the California economy.
Well a lot of the farmers who won’t get water in the summer because of this are republicans.

Government departments are being directed to scrub this stuff. My spouse is a government employee and her org had to scrub its website of DEI mentions the very day the EO came out.

I’m not sure it’s AI at work here.

So are a lot of those who eat the food those farmers produce.

If they are looking for government waste here’s an obvious place
