Well... it's Trump... again. #47, here we go.

Trump inventing the next grift?

article said:
President Donald Trump said he would consider exemptions for some U.S. companies impacted by the tariffs, a day after U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said the administration wouldn’t provide carve-outs to individual companies or products. He said he makes the decisions “instinctively.”

“You almost can’t take a pencil to paper,” Trump said. “It’s really more of an instinct than anything else.
Yes, Donald, pencil to paper is clearly not your style.

Hello, Bezos, I don't think you've been fair enough to my campaign funds. Yeah, I know I'm not running for President, but I have a library I'll be opening. It is going to be the best library, but you haven't help me make it the best library. I'm thinking maybe you need to pay more import tariffs because you don't appreciate me or my library enough. It is a shame.

Otherwise, how is having tariffs doing anything but punishing US companies for importing goods if you pick and choose "instinctively" which ones pay the tariffs?

How does any of this uncertainty help US manufacturing? Let alone business in general, or taxpayers/consumers.

How long before The Shithead starts claiming credit for creating the single best day for stocks in 16 years?

And will he mention that he needs two or three of these to recoup all the losses that he caused?

And as a second note, if I had a boss who didn't inform be of a decision like this beforehand I'd ream him. But this is how he treat even his biggest fans. He lets the bus hit them for kicks. Not that I approve of this guy. Just saying.

And no, it's not a joke

The new shower heads I had installed last year are fine. What's he smoking? Probably the same stuff that makes him think that new toilets don't work. We had low water use toilets put into our house in Maine and they work better than the old ones in our main house.

When you say that you know all you need to know about a subject, and yet your knowledge in it is shallow, that is an admission that you don't know enough to make an informed judgment, and also that you don't want to know.
I have sufficient knowledge about the economy for my needs. Most people are not experts on the economy. Often times, the people held up as experts on a subject are indeed wrong.

Therefore, any utterance you make relating to that subject is uninformed.
My response to HB was entirely appropriate.
The problem is that you have shown that you do not have enough knowledge to know when you're listening to experts or crazies.

Maybe; But if you lack the knowledge to determine which experts are "indeed wrong", then your opinion is worse than useless, and your wisest course would be to keep it to yourself.
This is the standard of knowledge that the average person needs about most important issues. Enough to recognize most of the garbage. You don't need to be anything like perfect, if you can recognize most of it you can tell who is spouting it and treat whatever else they spout as likely garbage. Most of the time one side makes far more sense than the other.

The basic problem is that it takes more engineering to make it work as well with less water. There are more crappy crappers since they limited flush volume. There is also the problem that the narrower pipe is inherently easier to encounter a traffic jam when more than one piece tries to go down at once. Growing up I do not believe we had a toilet snake. Now it's necessary.

I'm still reading Wolff's 2018 book. The information is mostly well-known by now but it's still fascinating to see, all in one book, Trump's White House as seen by insiders. The following email by a top White House insider tells a story:
Gary Cohn said:
It’s worse than you can imagine. An idiot surrounded by clowns. Trump won’t read anything—not one-page memos, not the brief policy papers; nothing. He gets up halfway through meetings with world leaders because he is bored. And his staff is no better. Kushner is an entitled baby who knows nothing. Bannon is an arrogant prick who thinks he’s smarter than he is. Trump is less a person than a collection of terrible traits. No one will survive the first year but his family. I hate the work, but feel I need to stay because I’m the only person there with a clue what he’s doing. The reason so few jobs have been filled is that they only accept people who pass ridiculous purity tests, even for midlevel policy-making jobs where the people will never see the light of day. I am in a constant state of shock and horror.
