Are people already regretting their choice?

More people who think it is only wasteful if it isn't for the area where I live.

"Flood water doesn't discriminate," said Evans, a Republican and supporter of President Trump. '"Any person that flooded is shocked that it would be considered politics to do flood mitigation."

So when he received word in April that FEMA was canceling a grant program that would provide nearly $40 million for a new flood control system in Central, he was angry. In a press release, FEMA said the program, which provided funding for infrastructure projects in storm-prone communities, was "wasteful" and had become "more concerned with political agendas than helping Americans recover from natural disasters."

"To me, it's a brilliant business decision," said Evans, who said the drainage project in Central would have saved money in the long run by protecting houses that routinely sustain flood damage FEMA ultimately ends up covering. "And then they pulled the rug out from under us."

Has this been verified to be true? Does Trumo even have the authority to do this?

What kind of odious monster would even do a thing like this? Do the tens of millions who voted for this freak have an ounce of humanity in them?

There is still a national hotline but it will have no option specifically for LGBTQ.

Wow, what a fucking monster. A truly soulless and contemptible creep. I hope everyone who voted for him suffers immeasurably.

Trump is the kind of odious monster who would do it. I've maintained for a long time that the only way someone could vote for Trump is to either be evil or stupidly ignorant.

It's not just Trump who is so disgusting. I did read that he ended the hotline a couple of days ago and then I read about the Lt. Governor of Indiana.

https://www.peoplefor.org/rightwing...q-movement-following-ancient-demonic-playbook

Indiana’s far-right Christian nationalist Lt. Gov. Micah Beckwith posted a new episode of his "Jesus, Sex, and Politics" podcast in which he doubled down on his warning that Pride Month is "the rainbow beast" and "a state-corporate-pagan alliance to reprogram society."

For nearly an hour, Beckwith and his co-host Nathan Peternel railed against Pride Month and the LGBTQ agenda in general, which Beckwith called "demonic."

"If you've ever studied the origins of, just the history of the LGBTQ movement throughout ancient history and all the way up to today, this is the same demonic spirit that basically just keeps coming back again," Beckwith said. "Back in ancient Israel, there was a goddess, her name was Ishtar, and she was the goddess of transgenderism, a gender-warping goddess. She was a homosexual goddess. Men would give themselves over to lustful acts with other men, women the same, pedophilia, everything like that. They would warp their genders. All those things. Same things that we're seeing today in the LGBTQ movement."

"It's really interesting when you study it because she was always celebrated in the month of Tamar [Beckwith presumably meant the month of Tammuz], which is our month of June, the exact same time," Beckwith claimed. "And she was represented by rainbows in her eyes. Anytime you saw her, you'd see rainbows. And it's like, wow, this is the same demonic playbook just playing out all over again."

If only this asshole knew that most of the of founders were atheists, agnostics, skeptics and/or deists.

Why are so many Christians so hateful these days? If anyone is trying to reprogram society, it's them.

Because hate (and fear, and anger) are excellent handles with which to control people.

Reason requires effort. It's almost impossible to persuade most people to engage in violence on your behalf by explaining to them why your targets need to be asaulted.

Even when good reasons exist, it's easier to just use hatred, fear, and anger - the guys who stormed the beaches on D-Day weren't inspired by a detailed study of the geopolitical and historical reasons why National Socialism should be opposed; They were inspired by hatred and anger - justified, against the Nazi Party, but really not justified against the poor bloody teenagers in foxholes, who they were directly fighting.
