Epstein, Kiddies, And Trump. Oh, My

Maxwell, I'm not even going to try to spell her first name, is set to do a deposition August 14th. A lawyer for several victims will be there. Per Chris Hayes show.

Please read the entire article I'm sharing as it does a good job of explaining why the Epstein issue isn't likely to go away and may well be the one thing that kills the MAGA cult. It has a lot of interesting information in it regarding the history of the sexual abuse of children.

There is no cause on the American right quite like the quest to save children from sex abuse.

The harming of children is at the center of Pizzagate, the wholly fake theory that began circulating around the 2016 election that Hillary Clinton was running a child sex-trafficking ring out of the basement of a Washington, D.C., pizza parlor. It’s the ultimate sin in the tales spun by QAnon followers, who believe that millions of children are going missing, their bodies harvested for a drug enjoyed by elites.

The obsession can be found closer to the mainstream, too. Conservative activists have stoked fears that transgender adults are “grooming” children for abuse. In the summer of 2023, the movie “The Sound of Freedom,” a thriller about a swaggering federal agent who rescues children from sex trafficking, was an unexpected blockbuster, powered by loyal conservative fans.

And now the great MAGA meltdown over Jeffrey Epstein.

Unlike QAnon or Pizzagate, Mr. Epstein’s abuse of minors has been proved in a court of law. Theories about his connections to powerful figures and the records of his crimes have been fodder for right-wing media for years. Now, Mr. Trump’s insistence that the whole thing is a “hoax” is being met with disbelieving anger from the MAGA base. Polling shows that the issue is the rare case where Trump supporters break from the president.

“I disagree with him on that, but mostly he’s great, plus he cut my taxes and he got rid of inflation.”

Seriously, they are saying that already.

Based on several articles I've read, I think it's possible the Epstein files just might help end the MAGA cult. One can only hope. No doubt the felon is on the list. We know he's a rapist and let's not forget how he acted in the past, as if he would love to have sex with his own daughter, if she wasn't his daughter of course. There is usually something that breaks up a cult and this could be the thing, since it's starting to turn away cult members like nothing has so far.

I've excerpted form an Alternet opinion with focus on last month's podcast interview of Michael Wolff, award-winning Trump biographer.
...
The most sedulous and servile Trump supporters in the right-wing media complex, from Jack Posobiec and Laura Loomer to Steve Bannon and Tucker Carlson, are castigating not just Bondi but the Trump administration. The far-right provocateur Mike Cernovich posted a direct blast at the president on X: "No one is believing the Epstein coverup, @realDonaldTrump. This will be part of your legacy. There's still time to change it!" On Bannon's livestream show, he taunted Posobiec as a "sap" for ever believing that Trump would release the Epstein files.
... But if you listen to Michael Wolff, the bestselling Trump biographer and National Magazine Award-winning writer, there is far more to their relationship than a few words and images.

Wolff knows Trump well and knew Epstein very well -- and what he has to say about them points in a very troubling direction. Last month he discussed both subjects and their connections on "The Court of History," a MeidasTouch podcast hosted by journalist Sidney Blumenthal and historian Sean Wilentz.

While Trump has repeatedly tried to minimize his ties to Epstein, whom he now calls a "creep," Wolff said "Epstein and Trump had been the best of friends for almost 15 years. ... They were instrumental in each other's rise." The pair "hunted women together," according to Wolff, but fell out, as very rich men do, over real estate. Trump went behind Epstein's back to outbid him on a Palm Beach property that both coveted. Epstein believed that Trump was actually laundering money for a Russian oligarch and threatened to expose him. And then, according to Wolff's recollection of what Epstein told him, Trump "dropped a dime" on his friend's trafficking of young girls to the Palm Beach Police Department. (Which, as Wolff notes, indicates that Trump had long known of the crimes perpetrated at Epstein's house.)

By the time of Trump's ascent to the presidency, Epstein was ready to "drop a dime" of his own. Wolff told Blumenthal and Wilentz how, after Trump's election in 2016, "I was sitting talking to Epstein and he said, 'Wait a minute, I've gotta show you something.'" According to Wolff, Epstein "went into his safe, and he came out with photographs. They were Polaroids, I think, and he kind of spread them out like playing cards. ... It was Trump with girls of an uncertain age, at Epstein's Palm Beach house, where all of the things that (Epstein) would ultimately be accused of took place." He places the date of those pictures around 1999 or 2000.

"And I remember very vividly three of them," Wolff continued. "There are two in which the girls, topless girls, are sitting on Trump's lap. And then a third in which he has a stain on the front of his pants, and the girls are kind of pointing at it, sort of bent over, laughing ... three or four girls." Wolff also said he assumes those photographs were in Epstein's safe when the FBI raided his house and seized every item of potential evidence.

The crimes and coverup demand a Congressional investigation -- and perhaps this time, Democrats and a few courageous Republicans will dare to demand the truth from Trump.

As with all photos like that these days, is it real or fake.
That image has been on the Internet for ages. I saw of first during the first Trump campaign and may even have posted it here, along with an image of him laying on a bed with Ivanka, very suggestively. AFAIK, none of those images have been doctored. The one on the hotel bed was for a magazine spread,

I think this is more than enough reason to document and sign images like these as authentic before AI gets good enough that fakes will get in

Unfortunately, there's no way to do that. Probably the closest you could do is create a digital signature of it and embed that in one of the main crypto blockchains, but we've already seen one blockchain compromised by a 50%+1 attack, a state certainly could do that.

Yeah there is. Digitally sign an image, then post it to a Blockchain as you said. Also, 50%+1 can starve the ledger from getting a signature added, but it can't fake a signature as originating from a user that didn't sign something, and it can't delete a signature already added.

You can use a 50%+1 to steal blocks because it's a timing/consensus issue on who gets the block rights... But the block contents, the transactions, those can't really be "faked".

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

A signed image just says "The persons or organizations who are vouching for the veracity of this image are the actual persons or organizations who we are claiming are vouching for the veracity of the image".

But why should I trust those persons or organizations?

The Daily Mail say it's a real photo. Does that make it trustworthy? The Guardian? The Telegraph? The New York Times? The New York Post? The Republican Party? Mad Vlad Putin?

The ship sailed. We cannot now, nor will we ever in the future be able to, trust any picture to be an actual representation of a real event, unless we witnessed the event ourselves, or unless we trust someone else who claims to have witnessed it.

And in either case, we don't need the picture.

Photos are no longer hard evidence of things. The era of "the camera doesn't lie" is over.

It's been over for longer than most people want to admit, too.

This photo should refute rumors that Dear Leader likes 15 year-old girls. This smiling girl is clearly dating Trump's pal, with Trump only giving reassuring fingerings on her inner thigh. And anyway, the girl might just look like a 15 year-old child: She could easily be a 16 year-old adult. The picture came from a mini-documentary about Atlantic City casinos complaining on multiple occasions that these two men were bringing under-age women into casinos.

Is the picture AI-generated? I give it 50% or so, but these days, who can know? The girl's left wrist looks VERY weird, but that might just be the way it's flexed rather than an AI error. BTW, what are the labeled bands two kids have around their midriffs?
