Speaking about absurd nonsense and projections, some personal anecdote about american propaganda.
I remember when I came to US and started watching TV there. Late into the night there were cheap commercials and one of them was about .... jews in Russia. Basically they were asking for donations to repatriate older folks to Israel. And it was a complete nonsense. They would show some elderly ( over 80 I would say) and imply that he/she (but usually a man) has no relatives and that he experienced anti-semitism. They would not assert that he himself actually a victim of antisemitism, just mention that Jews in general suffer from antisemitism in Russia, which is utter nonsense.
And the guy does not even look Jewish, but that's OK, not all Jews look Jewish. One would say "Who cares, it's just stupid money grubbing scheme" but this is how propaganda/lies work. Lots of people assume that what they say is true. Same with Hollywood, they portray Russia in such cartoonish way. They are just making money and creating completely false picture of the whole country.
