How should west respond to potential (likely) Russian invasion of Ukraine?

And you sound negative of Russia here, which is weird.
No. When the Interim Government of Bangladesh allowed China to use of an air-base near Indian border, it got us worried. It is natural.
It is in their jurisdiction, but it raises security issues for us. It is another thing that the base so close to India that it could easily be destroyed just by using 155 mm Bofors guns.
Or are you saying that Russians are just vicious and unthinking brutes?
Without using expletives, the fact is that induction of possible enemy influence in a nearby region does raise problems.
Why did US got charged when Khrushchev wanted a-bombs in Cuba?

If you have "absolute, complete trust" in him, why would you have a difference with his policy? Don't you trust his policy?
Why should I be a blind follower of Modi.

color me confused then. We must have different ideas of what “absolute, complete trust” means. I don’t see a distinction between that and being a “blind follower”.

Russian drones do not need stupid polish SIM cards. Seriusly, how fucking dumb one have to be to believe that shit? and from euromaidanpress of all places? Even poles themselves (according to polls) believe it was ukrainians.
You would use local SIM cards because for a cheap weapon system using the local cellular network is by far the easiest approach. And you don't want to use non-local ones because that would stand out.

So what if they alarmed Russia? That is not an act of war, Russia has no justification for attacking.
What happens when you alarm a dog, a bear or a tiger?
They're animals. So you're saying Russia is an animal?

No tigers around here, we do have mountain lions. And I hike in mountain lion territory--and I would expect any I encounter to act as normal and leave, almost certainly before I was ever aware of their presence. They're only a problem if cornered or you mess with their kittens.

Biggest thing I've ever spooked (at least that I was aware of) was a herd of bighorn sheep--they were running before I was aware of their presence.

Do you think that Russians are, like dogs, bears, and tigers, incapable of a measured and reasonable response?
I think humans are pretty much like that in general.
I didn't think Aupy was capable of that kind of cynicism though.

Same here, we have mountain lions and bears, coyotes, foxes, elk, moose, bighorn, deer... for some reason every time I ever alarmed any of them they ran away.*
Us 'Murkinz, WE be the big animals. Not just Ruskies.

* Cept the one time I saw something breaking into a grain room, stopped and got out of my car, then fled when I saw it was a baby bear. Wanted no part of that!

Khrushchev (USSR leader) explicitly gave Crimea to Ukraine.
And Putin (Russia leader) explicitly took it back
You can't take a back a gift.
So if I steal money and gift to someone, there is no way to get it back?
You didn't have it to give title.

Khrushchev was the one in charge. He did have title.
Then his actions are null and void, he was an authoritarian after all.
Anyway, he had no right to do that even within his tittle, it was illegal.
Don't be sad. Ukronazi step into this shot every time when they says "Ukraine must get rid of soviet heritage"
Well, Crimea IS soviet heritage, and Eastern Ukraine too, literally. In fact, all of Ukraine is soviet heritage. I mean if you "backspace" soviet period, then you go to Russian Empire where Ukraine was just a name of a region.

What part of "These were decoy drones" don't you understand?
What would be the point of these SIMs ?

Polish are lying, most likely there were no drones at all. It's all chemical weapons in Syria over again.

I have complete faith in PM Modi's intention, but may have different views about how things could be handled.

True for Himalayas too.

Plus you have Yeti there to worry about.
Any normal sized person might be a juvenile Yeti, and if the parents are around … that has to be scary.
Maybe that’s why Russia hasn’t claimed Nepal so far.

Ok, but that’s not what you said then. It was “absolute, complete trust” and now it is “complete faith [in his] intention”. These are quite different things in my view.

Faith, trust mean the same. What he thinks and what I think, cannot be the same all the time.
Modi's first concern is the welfare of the people of India. And this is his last term as Prime Minister (less than 4 years now).
He would leave politics in 2029. Only RSS* can order him.
* RSS - the nationalist organization, sort of mother to BJP, his political party, with which he is associated since childhood.

I guess we are just not understanding each other. Maybe a language issue. Sorry.

He’d get along with Putin. Pootey eats his neighbors.
There is no record that Yetis have ever eaten or harmed people.

"There are no verified records of a Yeti killing or harming people; most accounts are based on folklore and anecdotal evidence. Some local legends suggest that anyone who sees a Yeti may face danger, but these stories are not substantiated by scientific evidence."

I (not a native speaker) was just criticizing your English :)
"To handle someone or something" usually carry negative and dismissive connotation for that "someone/something"
