Well... it's Trump... again. #47, here we go.

I'm working on my protest sign for the Oct 18 No Kings protest.

What do you think?

A hexagonal sandwich board? Cool!

Well, it would be two prints vertical on a 11x17 cardboard

Mainly I'm planning to use 3-4 on one on the other and the back 5 and 6 one top and one bottom.

1 and 2 might be used if the Guard are in Boston

That's just me. 3-4 and 5-6. My wife and 2 sons are also going.I don't know what they'd want. My sons might just wear their Trump Nimrod t-Shirts.

US President Donald Trump has said he will sue the New York Times for $15bn (£11bn) over what he called defamation and libel.

"The New York Times has been allowed to freely lie, smear, and defame me for far too long, and that stops, NOW!" Trump posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, on Monday.

He singled out the Times' endorsement of Kamala Harris in the last presidential election in 2024, saying it had become a "mouthpiece for the Radical Left Democrat Party".

A spokesperson for the newspaper said the suit was "an attempt to stifle and discourage independent reporting", adding it "has no merit".
Snowflake.
He has sued several media sources. In fact, he sued the NYTImes perviously and not only did he lose, he had to pay almost 400K in legal fees to the Times for a frivolous lawsuit. He has a case against the Wall St Journal and I think at least one or two others. I just remember the other one against the Times as I'm a NYT subscriber. Still, the question must be asked if our legal system will become so fucked up that the toddler in chief will eventually win one of these stupid lawsuits. Remember when he said he would protect free speech for everyone? He's either become so senile that he's forgotten that or he was just making up shit as usual.

I really hope that he sues the NYT over this. Then the NYT can take deposition. Put Trump under oath about Epstein. That would be epic. I hope Trump commits perjury. And this lawsuit would be completely without merit. NYT could collect extra damages this being a second (or third) totally frivolous lawsuit.

If the Court system agrees that media outlets should not be permitted to endorse political candidates, I'd actually be fine with that as long as it was consistently applied.

It wouldn't be consistently applied. Just with churches. Of course now Trump has told the IRS to let churches endorse candidates.

When have any of his lawsuits had merit and when has he ever been convicted of perjury, despite lying under oath numerous times?

Judge strikes down Trump’s $15 billion suit against the New York Times

Calling it “decidedly improper and impermissible,” Judge Steven D. Merryday slammed the 85-page complaint and said it could not stand.

A federal judge in Tampa struck down President Donald Trump’s $15 billion defamation lawsuit against the New York Times, saying that the 85-page complaint was “decidedly improper and impermissible” under the rules governing civil proceedings in federal court.

U.S. District Judge Steven D. Merryday, an appointee of President George H.W. Bush, issued a scathing ruling on Friday, lambasting the president and his lawyers for the lawsuit.

“In this action, a prominent American citizen (perhaps the most prominent American citizen) alleges defamation by a prominent American newspaper publisher (perhaps the most prominent American newspaper publisher) and by several other corporate and natural persons,” he wrote. “Alleging only two simple counts of defamation, the complaint consumes eighty-five pages. Count I appears on page eighty, and Count II appears on page eighty-three.”

Ya gotta love it! He did say that Trump could try again, but the suit would have to be limited to 40 pages. Shared article.

According to the quote above (I bolded the relevant part), it appears the suit could be just about five pages.

Meanwhile in 7 weeks:

SCOTUS ruled that the President may collect $15 billion from the NY Times while the lawsuit proceeds in the courts.

What I find the most infuriating about this is the lack of pushback by the news organizations over such clearly illegal actions.

Or the lack of pushback from so-called Free Speech Warriors on the right wing.
