If Trump is now favors of the bill that requests him to order the DOJ to release the files, he can simply get going and sign the order - no need to wait for Senate action.

That's what I was thinking. The only reason I can think of is that he wants Bondi to refuse due to "ongoing investigations" that Trump told her to do.
Clay Higgins's only purpose in life to prevent Mike Johnson being the stupidest Congressional Representative from Louisiana.
It puts Bondi is a strained situation. She is on record as saying the files do not contain incriminating evidence about anyone other than Epstein. This means she is complicit in a cover up of crimes committed by Democrats.

It's actually in the text of the bill that no evidence pertaining to active investigations may be released...
It will be heavily redacted, based on "active investigations" of Democrats, some of which should be prosecuted heavily (maybe even the Clintons), and they will use the Democrats on it as a shield for Republicans.

So it passed the House. If there are members of the House who are in those files, they were afraid to vote against the bill. Now it goes on to the Senate.
I imagine there will be procedural obstacles, but if Rand Paul does the same job of pushing it that Thomas Massie did, he'll manage to get it to the Senate floor.

That was fast, it has cleared the Senate. It was unanimous. There were no amendments.

You might be a revolution behind the International Dateline. Senate passed it yesterday. The thoughts are 'there are on-going investigations' so DoJ can only release documents we'd like to release.

One of the Democrats that Trump is going after is Larry Summers, former President of Harvard and held positions under Clinton and others. He just resigned from OpenAI's board because of the naming of him, it seems:

So, it makes sense for me now to query the Epstein email database for his name:

The first email hit seems significant and it mentions Trump and MaraLago.
If you click the link and look at ALL the pages in this stream of messages between them...
At the bottom and reading up, they seem to be talking about some woman/girl and it seems to be redacted perhaps. Epstein at one point says he is a good "wing man" for Summers. Discussion of the girl/woman continues. It is vague but sounds like maybe something inappropriate happened?
From the comments it sounded like Summers wanted to have an affair with this woman. Anyway, the conversation eventually switches to other things:
Obviously, the Donald is Trump. Dersh is Dershowitz. The email is from 2018 and in 2018 Dershowitz was defending Harvey Weinstein and making excuses for Donald Trump. He wrote The Case Against Impeaching Trump that year.

That statement was made Dec 25. In December of 2018, the stock market was doing terribly. There was a sell-off, which was the worst December performance for the Dow Jones Industrial Average since 1931. So this is consistent with wanting to let Mnuchin go, though he ended up staying on. So did this convo happen with Trump? He would be the one to fire Mnuchin and the convo was in the context of going to Mara Lago....?
Then discusion goes to Summers trying to get invited to Davos but Epstein saying no nicely. Can you believe Epstein was still a big player back then in the world economic decisions??! Summers then refers to a development in the "Dear abby issue." It sounds like maybe he thinks he is getting mixed signals from the woman. Then he writes "Trump about the same." These guys kind of write in code almost. Very abbreviated and poor grammar, like teens texting.
Anyway, getting back to Mnuchin, was it Trump who asked Epstein? It seems like it. Was Trump considering dumping Mnuchin? it seems like there were a lot of comments by Trump at this time about Mnuchin and especially Powell. But then they calmed down. So it is plausible that either Trump asked for 3 names or someone close to Trump asked for names to hand to Trump.
