IMHO this represents a new level of fascist overthrow of law and order.
Not the murder itself, but the kneejerk response of Trump and the sectional predator. It is plain to see what happened in the video, and equally plain that the Trump Mob responded instantly with a fiction, representing this 37 year old mother of three as a domestic terrorist.

It is plain to see that Ms Good was terrorized by Trump thugs, was trying to get away from them and never was a threat to any of them. They killed her because they could, knowing they'd never be held responsible for the murder as long as Trump was in charge. That confidence was borne out by the perverse response of "top leadership", who outright lied before information even became available. And the pitchforks remain in the shed.
The tragedy of the demise of America continues to unfold before our hapless eyes, and today we all know: TRUMP CAN HAVE YOU KILLED IF HE WANTS YOU DEAD AND THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT

THANKS AGAIN TRUMPSUCKERS

Notice how the enablers describe her as a terrorist and play up the danger (and injuries!!) to the brave ICE agent, even after the whole country can see the video. She was fired at from the side, but somehow she was trying to ram the guy. Trump finds people who lie like he does. There's a calculation that their audience of supporters is stupid, gullible, and willing to cut corners on all moral issues and all questions of fact when Trump doesn't like the news. E pluribus fuck.

Some (at least one) here are saying that she should have known that engaging with ICE will get you killed so it’s her fault for being so cray cray.

That calculation was obviously correct.
We see it borne out every day, right here, as trumsucking apologetics are put forth by our very own trumpsuckers.

The party of "freedom" is saying "they would still be alive if they complied with authority".

Someone should also post the video with a spoiler tag, just for posterity.

I also think that it deserves a text narration of the events in the video.

I'm going to copy and paste a post I made in the Murder Spree thread (I did say initially that the tragedy deserved its own thread. I'm glad to see Elixir did that):

The agent stood himself directly in front of her vehicle, an idiotic thing to do, and a thing all law enforcement professionals know NOT to do.

She was surrounded by three officers, one of whom tried to pull her door open. Whatever her original intentions, she was probably in great fear. She put her car in reverse, and then immediately begins to steer to the RIGHT, to avoid the fool standing in front of her, now towards her left.

The officer is out of harm's way completely when he fires the second and third shot. He fires AS the vehicle is obviously fleeing. Law enforcement professionals know never to fire on a fleeing vehicle.

As for the officer's injury - he is shown clearly only moments after the killing walking along for a good distance. He has NO limp, and he is using his body naturally and exhibits NO signs of distress or pain. If he was truly injured, it certainly wasn't life threatening. The video shows him getting bumped, when the driver is in the process of steering right, which would be to avoid the officer, not inflict more damage or run him over. He should not have been in front of her vehicle at all, as many law enforcement persons have attested.

He should have had the clear head here. The driver was in plain view of several cameras, and her car would have been easily identified, and she could have been charged with something applicable, reckless endangerment, obstruction, evading arrest or fleeing, etc. I am not saying she was completely innocent, but in any sane view what she did does not warrant cold blooded execution.

It is agreed by various law enforcement people as well as military people that many of these ICE agents seem under-trained and undisciplined. Some say they appear in a lot of cases to simply not know what they're doing. I've seen video where some of these hulking, masked menaces look like the fucking Keystone Cops.

Lastly, I'd like to say that even if technically it turns out that this shooting was legally justified, that does not make it right, does not make it a moral act. It was obviously, and very apparently, a terrible thing, and indicates a knee jerk reaction to a possible threat in which lethal force was used when it was manifestly unnecessary. Let level-headed, well-trained, and disciplined people do law enforcement jobs. Also, let them have some kind of guts and courage. I've been bumped by a vehicle a couple times. While it's a bit scary, I never felt like murdering the driver over it. Flip them off, call them an asshole, sure! But not murder them.

This incident is a perfect illustration of the principle, "Dance as if everyone is watching". I've seen several videos of the shooting and they all have a common feature, which is someone holding up their phone and recording everything.

I have long since given up on trying to rationalize why someone would be a MAGA supporter and come to the conclusion the root cause is a basic stupidity. There are some who don't actually care about MAGA goals, but believe there is personal opportunity in the grift. This is just a special subset of stupid, similar to a person whose retirement plan is robbing liquor stores at gun point.

The hallmark of stupid is its glacially slow learning response. President Trump himself has lied to friends, family, and the general public uncountable times and we know this because all of them were recorded. At this point, one should assume everything said or done is leaving a record. This makes lying about it not only easily exposed, but also quite stupid.

One of the many hazards of being stupid is the difficulty of fabricating plausible lies. In this incident, the relevant stupid people immediately told lies which could be easily disproved, and to compound the stupidity, included details which make it impossible to claim confusion of early moments. The story officers in danger is simply too specific. The public statements by Trump and Noem were made while the ICE command in Minnesota were still trying to fabricate a lie which would conform to the video evidence they knew existed. That sort of thing takes time.

The real problem ICE faces now is explaining how their mission to rid America of "the worst of the worst" resulted in the murder of a woman who given enough time to let her hair grow longer, could have been Fox News host, or a West Wing admin assistant.

Personally, I suspect that standing in front of vehicles is now an unwritten policy. This allows them to shoot people because they can simply claim anyone trying to flee was coming at them. I am pretty sure we've seen this before and we are seeing it again in Portland, though less information is available about that incident. What it comes down to is that resistance is being killed. In the broader picture of where we are in a spectrum of fascism, as in "first they came for..." it is now at a level of "then they came for resistance." They are not literally knocking on doors asking people if they are resistance and taking them out, but people who protest are being arrested on trumped up charges, there is hateful rhetoric such as Trump shitting on people, and Otherism propaganda about resistance to include a lot of hateful identity politics and vitriolic stereotypes. Stealing people's cameras while claiming they are trying to dox masked men kidnapping people is a norm. Now also, killing US citizens who protest and flee is becoming a norm. This is where we are. It needs to be recognized for what it is.

I like him because he tells it like it is.

According to our VP, this woman was part of a left wing organization of agitators who attempted to murder an ICE officer who had already almost been murdered but was still on the streets even though he had been traumatized so clearly it was a justified shooting.

  • Minneapolis shooting: Jonathan Ross, the ICE officer who shot and killed Good, is an Iraq War veteran who has served for nearly two decades in the Border Patrol and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to records obtained Thursday by The Associated Press. Policing experts say some of the choices made by Ross defy practices nearly every law enforcement agency has followed for decades.

Did war fuck this guy up? Did he have combat related PTSD, which sometimes makes people think everyone is the enemy? Just wondering. After being with the Border Patrol for over two decades, he must have known that what he was doing violated the practices he was supposed to follow.

The link also has some information about the Portland shooting.

Did war fuck this guy up?
Nope, just right wing ideology.

I think you couldn't be more wrong. Go online... that woman was going to hit the ICE officer. It was self-defense. The Trump Admin doesn't have to lie well, because they have tens of millions of knuckle dragging partisan idiots willing to believe anything the Trump Admin says.

Sure that too, but sometimes war does make people violent and/or crazy if they suffer from PTSD. Sometimes PTSD leave a person with severe guilt, but sometimes it makes them violent.

The real problem of course is that MAGA is allowing these people to get away with murder etc. I just always like to consider what makes people fall for MAGA and what makes people become violent in some circumstances. It's not always easy to find the answers.
