I'll just leave it there.I have never said Pretti's shooting was justified, nor do I even remotely think that Pretti's shooting was justified.

Local groups sue ICE over policy on warrantless home entries
Several Boston-area immigrant-advocacy organizations sued the federal government on Friday, seeking to halt immigration-enforcement authorities’ new stated practice of forcibly entering peoples’ homes without a judicial warrant.
“The Fourth Amendment exists precisely to prevent government agents from breaking into people’s homes without any judicial process or oversight,” attorney Brooke Simone of Lawyers for Civil Rights, which filed the lawsuit in federal court in Boston, said in a statement. “ICE’s policy is a direct assault on these core constitutional principles and undermines our privacy, safety, and dignity. It puts everyone at risk.”
ICE Expands Power of Agents to Arrest People Without Warrants
An internal memo changed the standard from whether people are unlikely to show up for hearings to whether they could leave the scene.
Amid tensions over President Trump’s immigration crackdown in Minnesota and beyond, federal agents were told this week that they have broader power to arrest people without a warrant, according to an internal Immigration and Customs Enforcement memo reviewed by The New York Times.
The change expands the ability of lower-level ICE agents to carry out sweeps rounding up people they encounter and suspect are undocumented immigrants, rather than targeted enforcement operations in which they set out, warrant in hand, to arrest a specific person.

Look at that, TSwizzle thinks that summary executions are the sort of thing you just roll your eyes at when someone says they are wrong.Holy fuck man. Pretti would have held some responsibility in his arrest for obstructing justice. Not in his summary execution. Absolutely nothing that Pretti did could be deemed responsible for his murder.I didn't say it was your post. That post nicely quotes examples of you using weasel words:Ok, so no weasely words then.I mean, you teed it up for me so,Post 934 is not my post.![]()
From Google on what 'weasel words' do:
2. Avoid responsibility
"mistakes were made"
"but if true"
"bad decision with devastating consequences"
4. Soften or obscure meaning:
"inserted himself"
"seems like an activist agitator"
"in this tragedy"
Good grief, there is nothing weasel about it. You just don’t like that Pretti bears some responsibility in his own demise.
Yea, it's just a super bizarre argument. An accused child molester doesn't deserve summary execution.
I mean, right now, me and a bunch of people I work with are worried as hell about a coworker who was picked up. Nobody even knows where he is, despite a court order for his immediate return to Minnesota.More power to the thugs

Yes, just sweep though a neighborhood and snatch anyone who the Thug believes to be illegally in the country. Where's the guidance on actually looking at passports and immigration papers?
What about all those people who have done everything legally?
I predict a whole lot more legal immigrants, green card holds, citizens will be thrown to the ground, kicked, beaten, flown off to Louisiana before the Thug even considers looking at documents.
It goes to show intent. Rump intends places like Alligator Oubliette to be "internment camps".What's your point, "Trump said it; I believe it; that settles it."? Trump's an idiot. Why on earth would you assume he knows what "internment camp" means?
Rump's and ICE's injustice and lawlesness is exactly the issue here.his lawlessness is not pertinent to the question actually in dispute between us.
Without Due Process where is the evidense they were in the US illegally?Duh. From this you can reasonably conclude that Trump is a bad man. So what? How the heck is that evidence that the people in AA were in the U.S. legally?
So Wikipedia's wright-up is irrelevant. YOU brought it up.It's not Wikipedia's job to opine whether they're legal or not;
Ya don't need to do EVERY single thing Nazis did, in order to earn the name.If you need to be taught what the Nazis did,
Without a conviction You can't be punished for it. Like it didn't happen. You need Due Process to earn the conviction. You need to PROVE he entered illegaly. The question is, does his method of entry have any bearing on his treatment under the law?he isn't issued a criminal conviction at the border. So why would his having no criminal conviction have any bearing on whether he entered illegally?
Is Rikers a jail (temp holdtng till trial), or a prison (result of convtction)? Alligator Oubliette is neither.if it makes AA a concentration camp it makes Rikers Island a concentration camp.
How so?You've also shifted the goal posts,
At the end of the day it’s the SCOTUS that opines such things. Or maybe at the end of tomorrow. Or at the end of next year. Or at end of the billionaires’ authoritarian rainbow.Bomb#20 said:It's not Wikipedia's job to opine whether they're legal or not;
Chaotic scenes unfolded on Friday night in Los Angeles as protesters carrying Mexican and American flags clashed with police while demonstrating against Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids. One dramatic image depicted a protester striking an officer's shield with a skateboard. As the night continued, the LAPD arrested 'violent agitators' who were allegedly 'fighting with officers,' one of whom was accused of 'using a sling shot to shoot hard metal objects at officers who were standing on the line.'

What's your point? Trump lies so often God uses Trump's lie-counter as a ceiling fan. So what? If Trump is concentrating on generic illegal immigrants even though he lied and said he'd focus on violent ones, how does that have any bearing on whether they entered illegally? Two reasons. Trump said the effort would concentrate on the violent murderers, rapists, and gang members. This is proof he lied.No doubt; but I'm not clear on what you think it has to do with the dispute you're commenting on. When a Guatemalan citizen crosses into the U.S. without permission he isn't issued a criminal conviction at the border. So why would his having no criminal conviction have any bearing on whether he entered illegally?do you seriously think the people that iCE arrests who are here legally, know that it’s here because the government thinks they’re in the country illegally? I think such people know it’s because ICE has arrest quotas ...
48,377 out of 65,735—or 73.6% held in ICE detention have no criminal conviction according to data current as of November 30, 2025. Many of those convicted committed only minor offenses, including traffic violations.
How? How does their lack of criminal convictions imply the government doesn't think they're here illegally? That's a non sequitur.Second, It directly addresses Elixir's first question above.
How many is many? They've deported 600,000 people, last I saw. If 0.1% were here legally and were deported for no reason that would be 600, which is certainly "many", but it would still be a 99.9% accuracy rate, which would indicate the government is pretty solidly focused on people it thinks are here illegally or abused U.S. hospitality. So what fraction are you claiming were arrested and deported for no reason?ICE is arresting and deporting many who are here legally for no reason.
Right back at ya.Do keep up, please.
Why should we trust the government's claims about the legal status of the immigrants they're rounding up when we know they lie? Simple question. In any event, it's not clear what Elixir's question had to do with the dispute either. In order for his question to have been relevant, the subset of arrestees he focused on would have to be a large fraction of the total, and not even he is claiming they are.

They are. Not only are they terrorizing anyone who is not white enough, they are terrorizing everyone in the city and nearby area. The stress they are causing is incalculable—worse by far because of the murders and the kidnapping of a small child. Why should we trust the government's claims about the legal status of the immigrants they're rounding up when we know they lie? That's the thing. They lie to justify being domestic terrorists. What they are achieving in no way justifies the methods. They are terrorizing whole cities, Immigrants and citizens alike. They are violating the 4th Amendment. They are beating up civil rights under the Constitution. They are killing citizens.
5% of the people that they've rounded up have violent crime convictions. 73% have no conviction of any kind. And of the 27% with a conviction, 6% and 5% are Traffic and Immigration. 11% of the 26%, (42% of the 26%). Traffic and Immigration = Civil offenses.
They are doing great harm and great evil for a lie.
They are also setting the stage for a complete rejection of the GOP. For decades to come.

Hi hope. The current GOP are terrorists or collaborators.
