Yet another war, this time with Iran

Amigo: you’ve confused these conflicts a couple times. NATO does not support the Iran war.
Cool, then where are the EU sanctions against US for unprovoked invasion of Iran?
Western sanctions amongst themselves is generally in the form of, "you are paying for this yourself".
That stinks double standards.
As Russia attacks civilian populations, we see barbos try to tread the high ground.

And it seems that the NY Times reporting was dead on regarding Netanyahu's influence and that no one else wanted to do it. As Trump confirms his potty mouth conversation with the guy that played Trump like a fool... the fool he is.

In an interview broadcast on Wednesday, Trump was asked whether he had called the longtime Israeli leader "effing crazy" and accused him of ingratitude, paraphrasing a report by Axios.

"I did," Trump told the "Pod Force One" podcast. "I wouldn't say angry. I was a little bit perturbed at his constantly fighting with Lebanon, you know."

Trump went on to say he and Netanyahu get along very well.

According to the Axios report, which cited an unidentified U.S. official, Trump said to Netanyahu in a call on Monday: "You're fucking crazy. You'd be in prison if it weren't for me. I'm saving your ass. Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this."

Trump said in the interview: "At some point, I said, Bibi, we got to stop this. We got to stop it."

Russia does not attack civilian population, Kiev Reigime does.

In that call, he sounds like he’s 11.

So... just bad aim then?

Again, I understand your position. It’s unrealistic to expect India to stop buying Russian oil. Your country has a balancing act to play having three very aggressive imperialist countries near it. But every dollar going into Russia prolongs this war. I think that any country that can should withdraw from Russia until their imperialism stops.
That sort of ends that discussion. We cannot and will not. US does not give us software control even if we buy their costly airplanes. Three very aggressive imperialist countries? Which ones? China and who? Russia is far way from India.
It looks like India is set to spend a lot of money on new Russian fighter jets (Su-57), which on the surface appears to be potentially the one of the best air superiority assets ever made. The specs are all there for it to be exactly that. The big question though is whether or not it will meet expectations in a fight.

Anyway, the point is that physical distance has little to do with who buys what from whom.

Does he ever not?

He's like Butch, the bully on The Little Rascals tv show. He always had nefarious plans, but was always foiled due to his stupidity. Unfortunately, Trump is supported and surrounded by an idiot army of Butch's.

Man, I need to freshen up my geography. I always thought Ukraine was in Europe and not adjacent to Iran. Nor had much of anything at all to do with Iran.
The common factor in these conflicts is US/NATO.
Which?

The US is not NATO; NATO is not the US.

Saying "US/NATO", as though they were somehow one entity, is both absurd and a hallmark of Russian propaganda.

Here's a good video explaining the shitty economy of Iran
That is not going to stop the US-Iran war. The are die-hard people just like in Afghanistan.

Nonsense.

Iran was on the brink of collapse before the war. What triggered it was a string of violent uprisings against the regime.

Support is weak.

The ayatollah is only in power thanks to terror. If they show any weaknes they're toast.

Unfortunately the imams are die hard. But only them. And that's a tiny tiny group
The imans now have a tighter hold in Iran thanks to this fucking moronic war. All they have to do is wrap themselves up in faux patriotic nationalism and they're set. This isn't an original story - look at Bush Jnr's and Giuliani's approval ratings in October of 2001.

I'd argue the context is too different.

How could they possibly have tighter control now than before the war? They were already at max. The control was so tight the people were suffocating. It was so tight, it was at the point of falling apart.

Iran is way past the point where they can wrap themselves up in patriotic nationalism. The regime has lost the people.

If I'm to trust my Iranian friends. Iran is a culture where 25% is a rabid Islamist who doesn't believe in reality, but trust the regime. They're basically conspiracy theorists. And 75% couldn't possibly hate the regime any more.

This btw is true both for expat Iranians, as well as Iranians in the country.

The confusing thing about the Iranian expat community is that a large portion of them are families who escaped the shah's draconian oppression. Ie, they're the rabid Islamists who brought Khomeini to power. But were too rooted in their new country to go back after the revolution. Those are typically in favour of the regime and defend it.

So the Iranian expat community is about 25% who love the regime, to an irrational degree, and 75% who hate the regime. This split is often within the same family. Leading to much conflict around the dinner tables.
I heard these exact same arguments in the 80s, 90s, 2000s and 2010s. So forgive me if I harbour some skepticism,

Like this sort of thing: Spain denies US permission to use jointly operated bases to attack Iran?

Letting the US pay for airbases, and then refusing to let the US use them, is a sanction, no?
No, not even close. That can't even be called "sanctions"
I want to see ban on american everything including LNG.
I want to see EU military help sent to Iran.

Russian aim is excellent. That's why you can provide examples

NATO has explicitly held back on Iran.
US has gone ahead into the mire. UK, France, Germany have shown intention to join.
Amigo: you’ve confused these conflicts a couple times. NATO does not support the Iran war. No European troops anywhere near Iran.
"The United Kingdom, France, and Germany issued a joint statement on 1 March 2026 condemning Iran's indiscriminate missile and drone attacks across the Middle East and warned of defensive action to counter Iran's missile and drone capabilities." 1 March, 2026.
Commitment to Allies: The statement emphasized their commitment to protect their interests and those of their allies.
Military Deployments - In the wake of the conflict, the UK took specific military actions, including:
- Shooting down Iranian drones and missiles over allied countries such as Qatar, Iraq, and Jordan.
- Deploying additional military assets to Cyprus, including radar and air defense systems, and relocating the destroyer HMS Dragon to the Eastern Mediterranean. (Duck Assist)

I suppose if your next door neighbor didn't like your friends you would throw your friends under the bus for your neighbor.
I will be careful to tell my neighbor that I value him as a neighbor and the issue of my friend should not be spoil that relationship.
That's your first problem, right there.
:) Why should that be a problem. You see the conflict with a different view.
Trump is an idiot. He has no respect for laws.
I agree to that.

We buy things from all places. We are interested in some variety of Su-57. More S-400s. We have bought 114 Rafales from France (Cost USD 39 billion). Things from Germany, Italy too. Some we are manufacturing on our own, UAVs (USD 2 billion), submarines. Testing new missiles every other day - Rudra 2, Hypersonic anti-radiation air-to-surface missile. It is necessary, we have a large population to protect.

Especially if he does it one bite at a time. Georgia, Crimea, Donbas, a bit of Moldova, etc.
Same case as in Ukraine.
"In 2000, Vladimir Putin became Russia's president, while Georgia experienced the Rose Revolution in 2003 and moved towards forging closer ties with the European Union and NATO. Consequently, Georgia–Russia relations deteriorated rapidly by 2006 and spiraled into a diplomatic crisis by 2008."
Ignore Russian concerns at the instigation of NATO and get into a war. Some nations need to be wiser to keep a balasnce.

Ukraine and Russia are not just neighbors. Most of the Ukraine has shared families and history.
As I said before my neibhours from upstairs have family there
Better analogy for Ukraine would be a relative who has alcohol problems and who befriended a criminal

I think a better analogy would be someone trying to leave an abusive relationship and being stalked by their ex who claims he's being harmed by the attempt to leave and wants to force the other to stay.

I think its been true since the 80s.

Its an oil economy and suffers from the same problem any country does that has one very valuable resource. Control of that resource means that you have the money to crush dissent.

Iran spends an absolutely eye watering amount of GNP on the military. That army is used to control the people.

People loyal to the govornment get subsidise for their companies. Aa a result these companise conpletely dominate the economy today.

The whole country is organised as a tool just to keep the ayatollah in control.

Fun fact, the Alid party (ie Shia) their whole identity is based around that imams shouldn't have secular power because power corrupts. Ali couldn't have been proven more right in Iran

Well, Europe is clearly involved in Ukraine. In Iran, they have shown some action (see my post above) and their interest to join if need be. They have not spoken against US action in Venezuela or the sanctions on Cuba.
Spain denies US permission to use jointly operated bases to attack Iran?
Letting the US pay for airbases, and then refusing to let the US use them, is a sanction, no?
:) Why does Spain need a US air-base on its soil? Is Russia attacking them?

You clearly don't know shit about ukrainian history.
My analogy is correct one. It also applies to Georgia as well. As Nino Burjanadze have attested.
