Are people already regretting their choice?

For example, union labor had always been with the Democrat party. But the Democrats betrayed them even worse than Trump today with globalization and immigration.
"globalization": So, the Democrats (and the government at large, because the Republicans could have done this too when in power) should have enforced regulations on US companies to prevent them from outsourcing manufacturing? Is that what you are saying? More government regulation and oversight is what this country needed to support (and not betray) union labor?

There is no other political direction at this point. Both parties represent the same interests and those interests are not those of the general public.

For example, union labor had always been with the Democrat party. But the Democrats betrayed them even worse than Trump today with globalization and immigration. Indeed, it was the betrayal of the Democrat party in the first place which caused the rise of Trump.

A third party is technically possible but can not succeed in the US. The last time it was tried was an unsuccessful experiment attempt during Ross Perot in the 1980's.

So we are left staring at the paradox that citizens of America, allegedly the example for the world of democracy in action, are totally devoid of political representation Neither of America’s political parties represents Americans. They represent powerful interests only.
Says the guy who voted three times for Trump... a guy that exclusively represents himself.

Most Trump voters are like any other voters who believe the country is headed in a direction that doesn’t benefit them. Concerns such as the outsourcing of jobs, inflation, and both perceived and real biases on other domestic issues drive their decisions. While the media often emphasizes discussions about fascism, racism, and bigotry (and there is merit to those conversations), it’s notable that they steer clear of labeling Trump voters as the ‘1%’ hoarding wealth—likely because that’s an easily debunked claim. I understand why the majority of Trump voters made their choice. While there is a minority that is prouder to be degenerates than I am of being Black, most are struggling financially and view Democratic policies and rhetoric about equality as direct challenges to their way of life, even if their interpretation may not be entirely accurate.

My main issue with Trump voters (and, likewise, with those who support Democrats) is that politicians on both sides continue to prioritize the interests of the 1% over the rest of America. The entire spectacle of the DNC and RNC, amplified by profit-driven news organizations disconnected from everyday communities, only makes things worse. These media outlets, have talking heads who wouldn’t set foot in a grocery store, keeping the public so distracted and polarized that we’re on the brink of a modern return to a feudal-like system—where voicing dissenting political opinions could be risky or even seen as heretical.

Fox, CNN, and similar networks don’t represent us. They represent FOX or FOXA & WBD on NASDAQ. Anyone who regrets their choice for reasons other than recognizing that the entire system is fucked is likely to repeat the same mistakes.
I could not agree more.
Yes. Gospel’s post is where many maga have landed. Disillusioned by Trump but unwilling to move in another direction.

If I was a Republican strategist, this would be the plan. His base of lunatics are going to vote come hell or high water. All they need to do now is convince a small group of swing voters that “they’re all the same” and they stay home.

Agree 100%. The only people who claim "uniparty" bullshit are too fucking ignorant with what is going on. Whether it's deliberate or not varies from person to person but it's ignorance all the same.

All they need to do is demotivate potential Democrat voters, which is pretty easy to do after a decade of decline and ballot-box confusion. Even a lot of regularly blue voters see the party as impotent and/or corrupt, and it's near-exclusive campaign focus on not being Trump but otherwise saying as little of consequence as possible, definitely fuels the coals of perilous apathy. 54% of the American public holds a negative opinion of the Donks [1]. Even among their own ranks, only 7 in 10 Democratic voters hold a favorable opinion of their own Party [2]. A Republican strategist doesn't need to turn those folks into turncoats, just make them feel as though their vote doesn't matter enough to make it worth the trouble of walking down to the poll.

We are in serious danger of losing our democracy to disinterest.

We have already lost our democracy to big interests. Does not matter if your candidate is blue or red they are not going to represent you.

That is not to say this can not be fixed peacefully....but voting isn't going to get the job done anymore.

It makes absolutely no difference whether you vote for the blue candidate or the red one. They may say different things before they take office but their actions always support powerful interests in the end. Obvious interests which include supporting existing monopolies, killing people in far away places, inflating the monetary system, and being Israel's buttboy. In other words, everything that is important to your way of life.

So you can just go ahead and vote for your blue guy all you want and see how that works out for you in the end. Even if your blue guy is somehow the real superman, one guy isn't going to fix our corrupt political system with his magical wand.

Our political problems can not be fixed by voting anymore. The Canadian truckers did show the world how policy and/or politics could actually be changed peacefully during COVID. They showed the elite (at least temporarily) who actually produces and transports goods to everyone. But in order to work everyone on the ground has to participate. That is where the liberals like you who should have supported them abandoned them and decided to trust their faith in their existing political system. The liberals totally failed the truckers.

And the elite on both sides will count on that.

Does not matter if your candidate is blue or red they are not going to represent you.
This has long been true, but it is getting blatant. You know neither of California's gubernatorial candidates bothered to submit a statement for the official voter guide this year? How long does it take to copy and paste a paragraph? But, we aren't who they are accountable to.

It makes absolutely no difference whether you vote for the blue candidate or the red one.
The blue ones support justices that expand rights, not contract them.
Our political problems can not be fixed by voting anymore.
Well, after the right-wing got the Heritage Foundation wish list achieved, there is some truth to that, but I'm not going to burden your mind with US Constitutional law and how the far right wing has broken it.
The Canadian truckers did show the world how policy and/or politics could actually be changed peacefully during COVID.
That reminds me of when the Canadian truckers were in Ottawa claiming tyranny as Ukrainians were fighting back an invasion by a nation that was trying to absorb them into their country.

Maybe not, but it remains of at least passing interest whether their big interests are going to have little impact on your life (D), or make your life vastly worse (R).

That is simply untrue. They may not represent you, but it is still far better to be ignored than it is to be robbed.

Choosing to be robbed, because the guy who ignores you is doing nothing to make your life easier or better, seems perverse.

So, not important to your way of life:

Fuel prices
Having a job
Cost of living
Cost of healthcare
Arbitrary arrest without due process

I voted for Obama (D) so lets talk about how he improved our lives in the US and the way he bailed out the banks in 2008. The banks made all these bets they couldn't pay off so they were all going to go insolvent. But our government under Obama came in and made them whole. The government created that money and gave it to the banks. It was a shit ton of money. What they could have done is give that same amount to the people who owned homes and they could have saved the home owners and the banks at the same time. That did not happen because the people who run the government are the banking cartel who wanted to possess those homes. The default was structured so that the people would default on their loans but the banksters were made whole. 10 million families lost their homes under Barack Obama while he made sure the banksters were made whole and did not miss their bonus payments. Then other like minded cartels like Blackrock and other leaches were allowed to purchase those same homes at pennies on the dollar.

So don't try to tell me Obama (D) just had "just a little impact on our lives"!

Then lets talk about Biden (D) (even though I did not vote for him) and what he did shutting down the Ohio railroad strike. Workers were going to win that strike in a matter of days. But Biden had to make certain the railroad workers did not shut down the establishment machine. Otherwise winning that strike would have told the country just how much power organized workers actually have.

Those are all very important. But voting blue or red will make very little difference to any of them.

The biggest steps occurred under W (TARP), not Obama. However, I would have expected Obama to have done likewise, except not asking for a blank check like the W Admin did.
The government created that money and gave it to the banks. It was a shit ton of money.
Actually, it was a shit ton of loan. In order to thaw the freeze, the big banks had to trust the other big banks had money. So the Government said you are taking this, shut up, you are paying interest back on it. It is clear you have absolutely no idea just how bad it got. Had the Government done nothing, everything was lost. In fact, I'm not even certain anyone would have known how to dig out of 'letting them fail', because the solvent banks would have become as insolvent as the insolvent banks became. Yes, the physical gold hoarders would have finally had their day, but there would not be anything left to buy.

Huge banks went out of business. Bear Sterns, Lehman Brothers, Washington Mutual, Merrill Lynch, Countrywide all died. AIG was going to die. 140 banks died in 2009 alone. There was a severe consolidation because there was no where else to turn. It'd be nice if these big guys were split back up.

If what you say is true, what steps have the Democrats you are defending enacted making certain such a banking failure would not happen again? I guess I never heard that Glass Steagall had been enacted again. I would think the Democrats of all people would be worried to death about how bad it got and how close it was to going back to gold trading for services.

Furthermore, what I said still applies. Obama could have bailed out the home owners and saved everyone. Like when they cut checks during COVID and printed the money for it all.

They did not really go under. They just assumed new ownership and made other people (like Warren Buffet) extremely even more rich than he is already.

It would have been smarter to just bail out the homeowners by sending payments directly to the banks in the borrowers' names. But that didn't happen. The man you supported THRICE for the Presidency wouldn't have done bailed out homeowners. So what exactly is your beef?

If you read Howard Zinn's A People"s History of the United States, you'd learn that the Federal gov't has always been in the pocket of the elites to some degree since the founding of the USA. Hell, our venerated founding "fathers" were elites.

So, I'm not sure what on earth you are really going on about. You want to go back to the past but it really not different in the grand scheme of things.

I was responding to the argument that voting no longer matters in the US. Our political system has been captured by powerful interests meaning that the majority of the people are not represented.

Ill try to look into Howard Zinn's book, thanks for sharing.
