It’s unclear who started the disturbance that brought police to the community pool in McKinney, but a second video—also released on Sunday—shows two adult women, both white, arguing and fighting with the teenagers. One witness said one of the women used racial slurs while another neighbor smacked a black teen in the face. But the complaint police heard was of juveniles “who do not live in the area or have permission to be there, refusing to leave.”

Every part of this incident—from the setting of a private pool in a predominantly white suburb to the angry neighbors and eventual violence—is informed by this fraught history of race and swimming. Whether they realize it or not, each participant—from the kids to the residents to the police—was playing an old part in an even older story of anger and confrontation.

Oh, Texas. You were so annoyed when the 19th century ended, weren't you?

Eh.

The best part of this whole video is at the 5 second mark when the cop tripped, fell, and rolled out of it. I was like...wait, you mean there is more to this video than this piece of gold?

But....but...but...Hannity sad he had to defend himself or he coulda got SHANKED.

It's a shame when a cop can't even handle a teen in a bathing suit without drawing his gun. What a pussy.

Shortly after the approximately seven-minute video hit YouTube, many on social media alleged that the white officer was racist. The Texas NAACP called meetings because members suspected as much, its president, Gary Bledsoe, said on CNN Monday.

Embry disagrees.

"Let me reiterate, the neighbors or the neighborhood did not call the police because this was an African-American party or whatever the situation is," he said. "This was not a racially motivated event -- at all. This whole thing is being blown completely out of proportion."

"I may or may not agree with everything that the police officer did, but I do believe he was trying to establish order. I am thankful to God that nobody got hurt," Embry said, adding that it made him feel uncomfortable to see an officer kneel on a teenager in a bikini and wave his gun at other teens.

A mother who was at the party gave a similar account. She spoke with her back to CNN's camera and didn't want to be identified, saying neighbors who vocally supported the officer had received death threats.

The officer, she said, deserves a medal.

"I want everyone to know that the Police Department was in the right and protecting everyone," she said. "He was not out of line drawing his gun, because he was being attacked."

...

'It was not racism'

Jordan Gray, an African-American 16-year-old who was at the pool when the police arrived Friday, said comparing McKinney to Ferguson, Missouri -- where protests erupted after the shooting death of unarmed teen Michael Brown -- just isn't right.

"It's just separate events happening," he said.

The situation spun out of control because of improper police practices, he said, but he said the situation had nothing to do with race.

"It was just a young girl put on the ground against her will and that's all it was. It was not racism. It wasn't none of that. It seemed like racism because he put down all the black people and all the white people were walking around freely. ... The officer was so out of control that he didn't know what he was doing seemed like racism," Gray said.

A bunch of teenagers from a group (poor people with less education) that has higher rates of teenage pregnancy would never result in parents being concerned.

The sons who get your daughters pregnant will normally contribute a large amount to raising the children. They will be easy to find, as all males who show up at an event will always tell their actual names and where they actually live. None of them will give out a burner # when looking for easy sex. In addition, the ones who engage in reckless sex are definitely the ones who are going to have secure jobs down the road.

The daughters your sons get pregnant will normally contribute a large amount to raising the children. It's so hard for a poor hot girl to seduce a rich teenage boy. There is so much risk for poor hot girls. They might end up getting child support, and their child may be helped out by a wealthier family. Your reckless son may have the opportunity to raise a child before they go to school, or you may get the opportunity to raise the child so they can go to school. Of course, the girls who seduce a rich boy are sort of smart, so this might actually be a benefit to your progeny, although if your son is dumb enough to fall for it... you don't want to find that out.

+ 1. Maybe. What?

What started this madness

It started long before that:

Craig Ranch resident Bryan Gestner posted on Facebook: “This was a Twitter party that turned into a mob event. Jumping pool fence. Assaulting 2 security guards, attacking a mother with three little girls. The video doesn’t show everything.” He said that the kids were drinking and “smoking weed” and would not listen to the adults around the pool.

“This isn’t about race,” he said. “This is about outside kids invading our neighborhood, and had no respect for authority or the residents here.”

Really?

A Facebook post with no back up.

“This is about outside kids invading our neighborhood, and had no respect for authority or the residents here.”

Do you have anything from the assaulted security guards? How about the mother and her three children?

The linked article in the Dallas paper describes the incident with security thusly

A mostly black crowd showed up, and the music was loud. At one point, some people who had not been invited jumped over a fence and were confronted by a security guard. Overwhelmed, he called the police.

A confrontation is not an assault and one guard is not two.

AND DO NOTICE that police officers who acted calmly and professionally, got the teens to do what they wanted without barrel rolls or drawing weapons.

One of the stories about this said that the party was advertised with a flyer that said nothing about invitations or membership. It appeared to be a public event with a DJ.

I'm wondering myself. :laughing-smiley-014

IMO the details of exactly what and exactly when and exactly why are pretty much totally irrelevant - watching the cognitive dissonance required of the usual suspects to in any way justify physical force of any kind towards some teens in bathing suits in hilarious.
and the mental gymnastics required to convince themselves that there is nothing racial about this because if you simply swapped the skin color of the teens to whites the exact same scenario would have played out is frankly disturbing.

That's not really a fair comparison because white people wouldn't need to jump a fence to get in since they could just have the security guards open the gates for them, not to mention that they'd probably have been invited in the first place.

Meh... white people. This reminds me of a personal anecdote.

Skipping that, the neighborhood looked too nice for that many black people to be in. Maybe a few, but not that many. So clearly they didn't belong there. Ignoring that, one thing I took away from the video was an officer(s) who didn't know how to deal with a situation. Instead of trying to address it (in a non Cartman way), once again we have an officer treating this like a criminal activity.

The really interesting thing was the two teens that rush towards the girl the officer was rough housing. You can almost see the instant they realize what the hell they actually were doing, ie... running straight towards a cop as well (not the best idea, especially if you are black because even running away from a cop can get you shot). They flinch move back a little, then the gun comes out (officer not the teens. Honestly, an officer should be fired for pulling a gun on unarmed teenagers when you have backup roughly 50 feet behind you.

But back to the blacks don't belong there thing. Blacks didn't belong there because it was too nice of an area. And because some people on the Internet claimed whatever. Could it have been crashing a party. Sure. Could it have been a poorly planned party. Sure. Could it have been some white person's overreaction? No motherfuckin' way in hell! Did the blacks belong there? Of course not. Look what happens when they go places... the police show up.
