FFS, Americans, just because we tell you that you have one mass shooting a month doesn't mean that you need to go out and shoot a bunch of people on the first of the month.

Among the interesting developments:

- The Gunman Reportedly lined up victims and asked them their religion. If the victim said "Christian" they were executed. Anything else and they were wounded. This sounds too unreal...but who knows?

- The name of the 20 year old male is, for reasons unknown, being withheld from the public. The Roseburg police department did not show up at its 2nd press conference and local commissioners and reporters can't get the Police to tell them anything.

- There is a dispute as to whether or not the campus was a declared gun free zone. However, reputedly the College Prez said it is NOW a gun free zone (as if that would have mattered). There are only a couple of security guards (armed?) for the spread out 3000 student campus.

- Before much was/is known, earlier Obama uttered at most a sentence or two of condolence before he launched into an angry tirade for gun laws. Clearly it does not matter to our Prez if this incident has any relevancy to any proposed gun law, but we know his M.O.. The agenda requires capitalizing on people's tragedy - one must immediately identify the enemies and proclaim "truthies" (e.g., "hands up") before most facts are known.

After all, one can't give time for an emerging truth make hash of your agenda.

I live about 100 miles west so here's my take. Deer season begins on Saturday. People are testing their gun alignments. Apparently if a student hesitated or said Doh (sounds like doe) he killed him. We have gun control here with little sheriff department (them's the county enforcement people) support.

Oh, and that school is in a republican county.

Given that mass shootings have happened in blue states and/or cities, do you have a point?

Oregon is very diverse. Both socially and politically.Eastern Oregon is very redneck.Willamette valley and Metro Portland are blue.Southern Oregon,Roseburg,Grants pass,Klamath Falls very red.

Yeah. Most of the shooting took place in republican portions of these kinda blue thingies like Roseburg ... http://www.cnn.com/2015/10/01/us/oregon-college-shooting/

You mean infamous ones like Newport Conn. (Sandy Hook) or Columbine? Both are very blue urban areas, and one of them in a very blue state. Moreover, reputedly the strong majority of shooters were democrats.

That said, I think such comparisons are nonsense. Crazy people live everywhere and gun laws are ineffective.

Police have identified the gunman who killed 10 people at an Umpqua Community College in Oregon on Thursday as Chris Harper-Mercer.

An online dating profile, linked to Harper-Mercer's e-mail address and featuring another photo of him, says the 26-year-old was living with his parents and searching for the "yin to my yang." It identifies his views as "conservative, republican," and lists "organized religion" as one of his "dislikes."
