Half of English No Longer Christian

Christianity is mostly about being superstitious, fearful and obedient. Does this mean people are outgrowing this debilitating garbage? I certainly hope so.

A British study, British Social Attitudes Survey recently released shows that in 2014, 49% of those survey had no religion.

Taking the biggest hit, The Church of England. Catholics and Other Christians holding steady though.

Most interesting.

Yet when news organisations report on countries they refer to England as a christian nation - that is why i harp on Atheists keeping quiet - if 50% of English no longer believe in religion and the other 50% is fractured between a bunch of religions, i would say that England is now an Atheist country and should be referred to as such. So must North Korea and Japan as well and i am sure i am missing a bunch of other countries

Sorry that should be South Korea but I guess North Korea qualifies also and is being referred to as a communist Atheist country

No it's not.

...Does this mean people are outgrowing this debilitating garbage?

No, I think it means people are becoming short-sighted and self-centred.

...I certainly hope so.

Why? Because group-think gives you comfort?
Trust me, you won't enjoy living in a world full of Friedrich Neitzsche's

And that comes from a person who believes a zombie is going to find out after they die if they believed in zombies
Of course nothing superstitious, fearful, or obedient about that!

I think you are going to find out something after you die.

I think you are going to find out something after you die.
And the brain is responsible for the behavior of thinking after it dies there is no more thinking
documented by observation
I've heard your superstition before, not convinced

I didn't claim to know that.
I said I "think".

Show me where in the bible it says Lion IRC knows what will happen to Schrodinger's Outlaw's so-called "brain".

It might get permanently erased and it might be as though zhe never existed.

I don't think that but the bible is open to such interpretation. (Annihilationism)

You're saying the Bible is pretty vague? Cool.

It's quite possible that someone might be so incredibly stupid and stubborn that they continue to deny God's existence even after they die. Some imbecile God-hater may continue telling themselves that it's all an illusion, imaginary - a hallucination.

That's what you guys claim is it not?

That the person who sees a ghost is deluded.

Citation needed.

I don't have superstition.

Anatomy of the brain

The central nervous system (CNS) consists of the brain and spinal cord. The brain is an important organ that controls thought, memory, emotion, touch, motor skills, vision, respirations, temperature, hunger, and every process that regulates our body
Believing in zombies is superstition

You're telling us that an infinite being exists who has the ability to magically create anything they want to. How is it stupid to not believe in that?

A brain-dead moron atheist might continue hating the idea of God forever - even from within hell where the gates are locked from the inside. And they might, if they were a great big
[expletive deleted] idiot, just keep on telling themselves the two great rules of atheism.

Rule 1
There is no God.
Rule 2
If there is a God, I hate Him

I'm an optimist, there could be an Abrahamic deity beast

I think it is quite irrational and stupid not to cooperate with the inevitible.
