This is the court case for that guy that tried to shoot him.

I found this section interesting:
Apperson's attorney, Michael Lafayette, said that Zimmerman was the aggressor and brandished a gun in both incidents, but prosecutor Stewart Stone said there was no way Apperson could have seen a gun through the tinted windows of Zimmerman's car.

In Florida, there are laws about window tint level. The driver window should not be that tinted.

I was hoping he got punched in the face again.

And yeah, how much tint do Zimmerman's windows have that nobody can see inside? You certainly can't get them that tinted in Maryland, but I don't know about Florida for sure.

The same in Florida. I have a friend who got a ticket. The police have some gadget that can test the level of tint.

And this is so the police can see what is going on the car.

I looked them up online. They've been on the books since 1991 though changed a couple of times. I find it unlikely that Apperson could recognize Zimmerman but not the mere existence (not identification of type) of a gun through an extremely tinted window. On the other hand, I can totally imagine Zimmerman with windows tinted at an illegal level and pointing to his gun.

Well, what race is Apperson? I need to know if Zimmerman counts as a white guy in regards to his interactions with him.

Deep window tinting is illegal here in MI but you can still get that deep tinting at most auto/truck accessory store, installed. They do warn you of the illegality.

You can't have them that darkly tinted in Florida either. It is against the law.

So I guess Z is back to being an innocent minority ...

Nice try.

Zimmerman hasn't been innocent since before his appearance in juvie court. But if you're saying his darkly tinted windows made his skin look darkly tinted to other motorists, and that a creepy ass cracker with a gun was chasing after him through a Florida neighborhood, you could reasonably argue Zimmerman was the victim of a heinous hate crime.

Apperson's mistake was missing and leaving Zimmerman alive.

The thought if you are going to spend a lot of time in jail for trying to murder someone you should at least go through with it so you get your jail time worth?

At least by not killing Z, he avoids possibility of the prosecution going after the death penalty.

Maybe. If Zimmerman gets killed, the Apperson's could tell a version of events that could not be disputed by Zimmerman and which may have led to no charges.

But actually killing him could have helped or hurt him more. It would have helped if Zimmerman had his gun out and that fell into the next seat or floor. That would give evidence of it. But right now things aren't looking good for Apperson.

If Zimmerman were dead, Apperson could have made sure the crime scene helped him.

Maybe. But if Apperson's fingerprints were found inside the truck then it could also show tampering with the evidence. I am not sure if there was witnesses to the event. And at the trial today Zimmerman claimed Black Lives Matter is a terrorist organization. I think that actually helps Apperson.

If I still lived in Florida, it would be a done deal. Think of me what you will.

So we are a country that allows vigilante justice instead of justice to determine things?

Florida passed a law designed specifically to uphold vigilante justice. It'd just be ironic if it helped Zimmerman assault once, then helped his own assaulter the next time.
