Chicago Police: 4 in custody after man tied up, tortured on Facebook Live

Chicago police were made aware of this video Tuesday afternoon. A young African American woman streamed the video live on Facebook showing at least four people holding a young white man hostage.
The victim is repeatedly kicked and hit, his scalp is cut, all while he is tied up with his mouth taped shut. The suspects on the video can be heard yelling, "F*** Donald Trump! F*** white people!"

The good thing is that this is not racism. Racism = prejudice + power. Says so in my Critical Race Theory textbook. Though the white guy was tied up, assaulted, and denied his liberty, it was his diverse captors who were powerless as they do not enjoy his [presumably] cis-white male privilege. Let's not lose sight of what really matters.

Meh, I have little pity for such depravity. A highly punishing prison sentence may not help anyone but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't nice to see people I see as deserving of misery getting what they deserve.

Probably a lot, given Derec's disposition for then trying to use this incident as a means to prop up his critically flawed prejudices. People know better around here than to feed that particular fire.

Like remember when those three old white guys got arrested for plotting to blow up an apartment building full of Somali immigrants? It would be irrational for me to try and extrapolate that into a general trend in regarding to the violent tendencies of angry old white people.

This is why Derec probably isn't getting as much traffic as someone else would posting the same topic; because the guy is as predictable as he is dishonest.

I like how the URL for the article in the OP implies that it's a Trump voter being tortured but I couldn't find a mention of that in the article. He's a white guy with special needs being beaten up and it's being investigated as a possible hate crime. What is left to discuss? All the real news sources that I've seen reporting on it (BBC, The Guardian, NPR) have said it was black guys beating up a white guy. So why the idiotic attempt to act like "the media" isn't reporting something properly?

And yeah, they're deplorables, just like 62.3% of Trump supporters. And 48% of people who vote blindly for either party. Or 100% of people named Ted Nugent who wrote songs called Stranglehold (still a great riff though) and Cat Scratch Fever.

There is a level of Trump derangement syndrome that goes way beyond anything that Trump actually says or does.

What prejudices? Have I said anything about this reflecting on all black people? The only prejudices here are your own.

That said, this exemplifies the poor way we as a society deal with race. Black and white (or any other) racism should be treated the same. Yet, our society tends to be hypersensitive to any perceived racism by whites (see the "microaggression" nonsense) while at the same time ignoring overt and real black racism.

People know better around here than to feed that particular fire.

Yet any time a white cop kills a black gangbanger a 100+ page thread is sure to ensue, with usual suspects defending the bangers.
