March for women. A message from Conservatives

Of course you think it's excellent. Your view stops about where hers does.

That seems to be the go-to criticism. How to dismiss such an incredible event? Oh, Madonna used the F word! That invalidates everything then.

The fuck it does. It does not change the fact that Trump is a fucking asshole, and an incompetent piece of shit, and all the republicans that can see that are too chickenshit to do anything, or are just greedy, powerhungry motherfuckers who don't give a fuck as long as they get what they want.

When a woman uses the F word, people like the FB poster get their panties in a wad. When men, especially men like Trump use that same word, and make all kinds of nasty, sexist, racist remarks, people like her seem to think it's okay. Well fuck her and horse she rode in on. Fuck is not a word that men own. There are a lot of double standards that still exist in democratic societies when it comes to men and women. I'm happy that younger women are finally starting to appreciate the efforts made by older women and previous generations of women to get as far as we have. We must be sure that our rights are protected and free speech activism is the biggest tool we have. I'm happy that a lot of men attended the rallies in support of their mothers, wives, daughters and female friends. And the marches were about more than women's rights. Fight the power!

"Hey, look at this nice park bench! It is just for you. In fact, if someone other than you (or your kind) tries to sit on this park bench, all hell will break loose. You should be happy to have this bench. You're much better off than those folks in Africa who don't even have a park let alone a bench to sit upon. Be grateful that you live in such a free country, and stop with all your protesting."

This. ^^^^^

"You darkies have full bellies and clean clothes, what are you complaining about? Things are much worse elsewhere!"

The FB poster is pretty much saying, "I have it great, so why is anyone complaining? Everyone else should just shut up because I have it great."

If they think that argument is sound or convincing, someone needs to disabuse them of that.

Not really

The real issue is they don't accept the election results since their issues are the same as when the democrats were in power. The Democrats didn't get in this time and they need to get over it. The next election is in just 4 year's time.
I'm wondering just how deep the self-deception goes in the heads of people saying Dems need to get over it.

The difference this time, our little Hubbard fan, is that the winning team is here to implement an inhumane, ignorant, dangerous agenda. No one took anyone's guns, no one created death panels, no Kenyan birth, none of the right wing horror fantasies came true or were ever a thought in anyone's head but manipulated, unaware morons. However, Donald and his ilk really have already begun dismantling rights and democratic protections. Already, millions are faced with losing healthcare. Already, LGBT citizens are targeted for legislative discrimination. Already, ethics groups and free speech have been threatened. Already, the plans of your political messiah and the zealots around him are rolling out to punish outgroups.

Trump really does demonstrate in his words and actions a bigoted, stunted, uneducated, unaware, hateful, callous regard for his fellow human beings, similar to how Scientologists are systematically trained to disparage humanity outside of the cult bubble (except for in PR materials of course).

The right wing uses many of the same tactics and cognitive tricks to create obedience machines rather than informed, capable, free individuals. That's how vapid demagogues rise to power, they get a free ride on your religious obedience programming.

A fascist mind (centered in authority, fear, conformity, us vs. them, punishment, diminished empathy, scapegoating, selfishness) is good at demonizing the weak and vulnerable (sound familiar? "offloading"?) along with the enemy mentality toward anyone who disagrees.

A right wing obedience machine cannot stand up to bullying and fascism any better than an abused animal. They're unaware tools, nothing more. No one expects such people to value human rights over ideological identity. So it's up to the majority of us who do hold humane principles to fight for good and to call out fearful, deluded fucks for their lies and cowardice.

It's also a case of the red team vs the blue team. Doesn't matter what the red or blue team is doing or why, all that matters is what their colour is.

This is complete rubbish. It might be true had Jeb Bush or someone similar won the election. But had that happened, I can guarantee you that you would not have seen the world-wide turn-out at yesterday's marches.

The response you are seeing has very little to do with Dem vs Rep, and everything to do with (1) the character of the man sitting in the white house now, and (2) the specific congress critters who seem hell-bent on destroying the country.

George H.W. Bush - I disagreed with a lot of what he said and did. I didn't protest him, and I was secure in my belief that our country would survive. Reagan the same thing, even though in many ways he was the beginnings of the horror-show we have now. Even G.W. Bush, as much as I adamantly opposed his presidency and still blame him and his puppet-masters for two wars and the economic melt-down, wasn't talking about "registering" people on the basis of their religion, or stripping women and gays of their rights, or stripping millions of people of their health care. And that's just congress and VP Pence. I haven't even gotten started on Trump.

So no, whichphilosophy and rousseau - this is not a "case of the red team vs the blue team". This is entirely about what Trump, Pence, the administration Trump wants to appoint, and a sizable chunk of congress wants to do. Their proposed actions, not their political party.

Side note: In case anyone hasn't figured it out, Scientology employs the same mechanisms of control as any dogmatic, controlling political or religious group, such as the GOP and the RCC and other cults through history. It exists to crank out right wing authoritarian followers and the goal is social dominance and nothing else. Intelligence, autonomy, nuance, empathy, and critical faculties are systematically suppressed, not to mention the ability to discern the traits and behaviors of con men. In the cult of scientology, though, they go through intense, specific training for disrupting discussion, changing the subject, moving the goal posts, goading and bull baiting, harassing critics, and avoiding telling the truth with non-answers. ZERO training in debate, critical thinking, or logic. In fact, the word "reasonable" has been redefined by the cult to mean "going along with something mindlessly." It's part of the training that makes sure followers don't ever get the irony of that.

This is relevant because religious and right wing ideologies of the authoritarian, magical, conformist kind need an army of weak minds to keep it alive. This is what we are dealing with all over the world.

It's the same disease that brought us President Donald, pussy grabber and petty tyrant extraordinaire.

We're paying attention now. Good thing there's more of us people of good will and humane values than there are obedient agents of chaos.

That's what makes them ideal recruits for Putin's effort to keep our country divided and in turmoil. It's not so much about supporting Trump, it's simply about perpetuating divisions and raising the level of internal conflict. Of course, having Putin's puppet in the white house makes the task a lot easier.

What is interesting is that I voted for Trump yet was also in perfect agreement to everything that was said during the protest. Also interesting to me is that this was a WORLD wide protest which seemed to be in response to Trump becoming an American POTUS.

I would think this protest will send a powerful message to Trump and the right wingers. I hope so.

We will see.

That was a nice speech but I am simply asking for the proof as in 'Where's the beef.'

Speakers were saying that in couple of the clips (didn't accept the election results). Me, I'm just the postman in this case (perhaps a bit more than that).:)

I like that the sleeping beast is awake, and feared by the world. The superpower is (supposedly) in the hands of a chaotic megalomaniac. The world fears us. That can be used in so many ways. Who better to use this position than a complete fucking scumbag? All he want to do is succeed. Would you wish peril upon the President, at the countries dismay? At some point you'll just have to chill. What are some famous quotes that relate? Those who ensue chaos for a chance at liberty are wiser than those who accept security at the price of their freedom? Or should it be the other way around? I prefer the latter..

The Facebook post has made an excellent observation. Much more eloquent than the potty mouth 80s has been Madonna.

Of course you think it's excellent. Your view stops about where hers does.

I think it's excellent because it makes far more sense than the utter crap spewed by the snowflakes that repeat the same hackneyed bullshit that your mob seem to think is true.

Madonna. Fucking hell.

And yet you accept the hackneyed bullshit moaned by the snowflakes of whom you approve. Fascinating.

What's the utter crap and hackneyed bullshit specifically? They march for humane values because inhumane values just took the most powerful office in the world.

What's this about Madonna? I'm not obsessed by pop culture as conservatives are so I don't see how pop stars are relevant to anything, other than they tend to be liberal. You still have Chachi and the KKK, though.

I would think this protest will send a powerful message to Trump and the right wingers. I hope so.

We will see.

After the statements by Spicer and Conway, I have no hope that they'll get the message.

Issues aside, it is an indisputable fact that Saturday's crowd in DC was larger than Friday's. News outlets have released photos taken at exactly the same time on both days, and official crowd estimates back up the pictures.

Yet the White House Press Secretary flat-out lied about it. This morning, Conway - when pressed on the matter - said he was merely presenting "alternative facts."

The Women's March was bigger than the inauguration. Period. If Trump's White House is willing to lie about something as obviously, unquestionably true as this, just imagine what else they'll lie about. In particular, things which aren't on camera, and don't have the eyes of the world watching.

Erm, this crap.

Exactly. They are not.

There is such a thing as 'alternative FACTS'? About the same thing?

Hmmm, think this is going to be the key phrase of the Trump years.

You thought wrong. It is much more about what they believe will come from his election.

Yup.

Erm, this crap.
OK, humane principles are crap in your mind. That is not news. Were there any particular points or arguments or issues that are crap or is "I don't like it, that's why" your only argument?

What's this about Madonna? I'm not obsessed by pop culture as conservatives are so I don't see how pop stars are relevant to anything,

Exactly. They are not.

Then why are you thinking about Madonna? Did she do or say something that triggered you?
