Songs about women not getting enough orgasms

I hadn't considered the porn thing, although I am certain that Canberra a factor. I was thinking more about how it is possible to simply operate on rote: he/she seemed into it or at least not object so I guess l'll just go with that ( rather than, I dunno: pay attention???).

It's awfully easy to go through life on auto pilot. Actually, make that: it's awful to go through life on auto pilot.

I think porn is great. It gives so many people confidence their first time around. Which means earlier debutes, more sex all around. More sex means becoming better lovers. Sex is a practical skill. A skill we need to learn before we get married and get kids. The no sex until marriage I think is the worst ideal ever conceived.

A lot of people complain about how porn is objectifying, brutal and degrading. What Internet pornography has taught us is that women look at just as much brutal and degrading porn as men do. Actually more. Women love being objectified when they're fucking.

Which means we can now stop seeing degrading porn as catering to men, the patriarchy and blah blah blah.

Why do women like this? Who knows? But it's just a fact.

Nah, watching porn when by ourselves allows us to be more honest with ourselves and explore exactly what pushes our horny buttons.

I also think it leads to deeper more meaningful personal interactions. Because we're so much better at knowing what we like, we're better at communicating it. Communication is the key to personal interactions.

I never said porn wasn't great, but porn is not intended to be educational and what one learns from porn is of dubious value, when one finally has a living breathing partner. Other than learning what naked people look like, and what can be put where, there is not a lot of instruction in a typical porn video. I'm old enough and experienced enough to have seen most of this.

There are people who think ejaculating on their partner's face, stomach, or back, is an exciting thing to do. Some partners think so, too. Why would something so contrary to nature become the goal for some people? My only guess is that it was something they saw at an impressionable age.

The phrase 'contrary to nature' is self refuting. Even the most bizarre sexual practices cannot correctly be described as 'contrary to nature'.

It gives so many people confidence their first time around.

I haven't met a single woman yet who felt that porn gave her more confidence at any point in her sex life, much less for a first time.

Well I'm of that age where Internet porn got a wide breakthrough in my late 20's. I saw a huge difference.

I think that the women who say that just can't imagine how porn has helped them. I think it really is that simple.

When it comes to body image. Pornography, Youtubers and health blogs have empowered people to change their body's into the way they like them. That is an extremely empowering. Even if you first do it for a few years and notice that it wasn't worth the effort, and then stop. I think women are a hell of a lot more sexually confident today than they were prior to the Internet.

Sure, it can be other things as well. Like access to forums where they can anonymously discuss personal topics. So impossible to untangle from the porn. Because it all came at the same time.

The reason so few people are open about the benefits of porn, I think is just the same moralistic Christian/religious nonsense as always.

Which means earlier debutes,

This is not necessarily a good thing. There is nothing wrong with waiting until physical maturity and hopefully, some degree of emotional and social maturity as well.

Sure.

more sex all around.

Doesn't follow.
More sex means becoming better lovers.

Really does not follow.
Sex is a practical skill.

To an extent.

So then it follows?

A skill we need to learn before we get married and get kids.

I'm actually quite agnostic about whether it is important or not to have sex before marriage. I've known a number of people who waited and who have quite happy and fulfilling sex lives. I realize that waiting until marriage--or marriage--doesn't suit everyone, but there's no reason to snicker at people who wait.

Ha ha ha ha. Yes, why not ask an indoor cat how wonderful it is to run free and chase birds in a forest?

I can't remember how many women in their 40'ies with kids and a long marriage behind them I've given an orgasm for the first time. They thought they knew what good sex was. Now they really know. This is so sad it's not funny in the least. These are all women who grew up without Internet porn. All my close male friends (I know are good in bed) have had similar experiences.

The no sex until marriage I think is the worst ideal ever conceived.

Hardly. For example, the idea that sex with virgins will cure AIDS is far worse.

That's not an ideal. That's just a retarded pseudo-scientific belief.

A lot of people complain about how porn is objectifying, brutal and degrading.

Quite a lot of it is objectifying, brutal and degrading.

What Internet pornography has taught us is that women look at just as much brutal and degrading porn as men do.

You are simply making stuff up now.

Googling sources for this is not safe for work. But no. This has been studied. We have people's google searches for instance. That's hard data. We have people's Tumblr accounts. 50% of all misogynistic comments on-line are from women, a recent study found.

It's not as easy as women like it soft and cuddly, and men are rough and horrible.

Actually more. Women love being objectified when they're fucking.

You truly do not know what you are talking about. However, if women you fuck are telling you to just shut up and get on with it, it may or may not have a positive correlation with your skills as a lover.

Just because it doesn't work on you, doesn't mean it doesn't work on all women.

Which means we can now stop seeing degrading porn as catering to men, the patriarchy and blah blah blah.

Somehow, I don't think you ever troubled yourself with considering for even one second if a particular bit of porn was degrading to women or catered to men.

Well, I listen to the experts who have studied this, rather than to just guess. My experience is subjective. Hardly valid from a research perspective.

A lot has happened in this field of research in the last 15 years. Women are hell of a lot more empowered today and are less ashamed than ever before of demanding the type of porn they want.

Today, the people whining about the damages of watching porn (ie porn addiction) tend to be men. Although research on whether pornography really leads to porn addiction is still inconclusive. That doesn't stop men from claiming this.

Why do women like this? Who knows? But it's just a fact.

Uh, no. It's not. What I am sure will surprise you should you ever actually consider this possibility--or actually have a genuine conversation with a real, live woman or truly, many women is that women are individuals and diverse in their likes, dislikes, tastes, preferences, etc. with regards to sex as much as they are with regards to clothing styles, food, jobs, etc.

Yes, I obviously agree. I'm sorry if I gave any other impression.

We are a decidedly unnatural species. You know what else is unnatural? Drinking cow's milk. The fact that it works as a source of sustenance is beside this fact. When you drink cow's milk, you are drinking the liquid protein excretions from another filthy stinking animal, who's excretions are not biologically or evolutionarily meant for you. If that is not unnatural, then what is?

This aside, there are reasons for finishing on your partner: You don't want to get her pregnant, and you don't want to purposefully soil the sheets if you can help yourself...It also works as a show of 'ownership' in the context of coitus which some people find stimulating in itself.

Thanks for that bit of news. Up to this point, it was a complete mystery to me.

There is so much here to address and really, I don't have the time. Since you are into movies, may I recommend one?

But, 'still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest...' or so the song goes.

Without getting into specific details, because really I don't know, it is possible that Swedish and American culture are vastly different, in fact it's probably very likely. Comparing the two is apples and oranges.

Parts is parts.

Not sure what you mean, but the impression I get from traveling to the U.S. is that it's at best a fairly conservative culture by Western standards, and at worst badly puritan. I don't know a lot about Sweden, but I'm assuming it's pretty wildly liberal, so the role and outlook of women in the two cultures is probably very, very different, including things like perspectives on porn.

Keep in mind I barely read either of your posts because they're way too long and I'm lazy :p

Parts is parts is a famous line from fast food commercials from the 80's--became kind of a meme, before they were called memes:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTzLVIc-O5E

I found it somewhat apt is this context.

Human sexual anatomy is pretty standard, especially if you are looking at only two sexes. There is no real difference between continents, between races and frankly, the differences between genders is pretty small, especially if you know any developmental biology. There are plenty of myths about Swedes, the French and the Italians.

For any and all of us, there is a finite number of ways that parts of the anatomy can be manipulated or will fit together, and lots of people have pretty well documented pathways and stages to orgasm in males and females--scientists, amateurs, authors, artists, etc. Starting with cave paintings. Perhaps before that, but at least that long. Dr. Zoidberg is convinced that somehow he and his comrades have discovered the secret to convincing women they are having great sex (with Zoidberg et al) and internet porn plays a major role. Before Dr. Zoidberg and his buddies and their internet porn, women were uptight and had no idea what good sex was! Because we were all ashamed of our bodies! Hahahahahahahahahahahahah.

As if there weren't plenty of readily accessible porn pretty much as long as people have been drawing pictures. Heck, I grew up in a small town along the northern edges of the bible belt in the middle of nowhere and I saw plenty of porn, had plenty of access to porn and even attended a number of porn film festivals and erotic film festivals. Plus, I lived in dormitories so, there's that, too. Even I was not naive enough or arrogant enough to believe that somehow my generation had invented sex--or good sex or sex for pleasure. FFS, I cannot count the number of sex posters on the walls of GIRLS in the dorms that referenced the Kama Sutra , which was pretty big back in my day. Has been a pretty big deal for well over 2000 years. And If I, a book wormish sheltered girl with fiercely over protective parents from the middle of small town Baptist nowhere knew about the Kama Sutra when I was a freshman in high school, way back before the internet, well, I seriously doubt I was the only girl who knew something about sex and its many permutations. Before internet porn. Yep, there was still porn, still girls seeing it.

Wanna know a little secret? All those oh, so conservative religious people who blush at the hint of sex and seem to barely know which is what? Not hardly.

Wanna know another secret? Every single generation that has come along has believed that they practically invented sex, or at least sex for pleasure, that no one has ever had such great and varied sex--and certainly not their parents or grandparents, who reluctantly engaged in only enough acts to produce THEM. I mean, ffs, just read Shakespeare. I confess I didn't get the dirty bits of Romeo and Juliet until I saw an actual performance of the play and realized we were reading an abridged edition for our 9th grade class. Read The Twelve Caesars. And those are literature! I mean, really. Actual porn is very unimaginative, and boring, imo.

As far as Americans being puritanical about sex? Ever heard the saying that those who can, do. Those who can't, teach? Well, it's more like: those who can't ....talk. A lot. The rest of us are too busy.

Without getting into specific details, because really I don't know, it is possible that Swedish and American culture are vastly different, in fact it's probably very likely. Comparing the two is apples and oranges.

I'm not so sure about that. What Sweden has is an extreme form of feminism being politically dominant. So we're seeing a backlash among women against parts of it.

But sex is sex. It's all instinct. I doubt there's been enough time for sexuality and sexual instincts to evolve into different forms among humans. What we've got that sets us apart is a large brain that allows us to fool ourselves into believing lots of bullshit about sex. But fundamentally. Either you're getting sex in the way that turns you on, or you're not going to get sexually satisfied. And once you've had an amazing mind-blowing orgasm there's no going back.

I think this is one of the saddest paragraphs I've read all year.

When it comes to sex we've lived in revolutionary times, for the last hundred years or so. So I think it might actually be true that every generation in this period have improved on their sex lives. That must certainly be true for women. I mean... the Hitachi Magic Wand. Or the vibrator. These are modern inventions and have helped a lot.

I have read all of Shakespeare's works and agree completely. I think Shakespeare is brilliant and one of my favourite authors. I didn't get the dirty jokes in Shakespeare until I'd read the Bible.

I think you find porn unimaginative because you've only read and seen unimaginative pornography. I'm not saying Fifty Shades of Grey is imaginative nor high quality pornography, but it is pornography and was one of the best selling books of all time, primarily bought by women. Women aren't innocent little flowers. They most often have filthy filthy minds. And it's about time they stop feeling ashamed of it. You're not helping.

I think this is one of the saddest paragraphs I've read all year.

I'm sure you do. I find your attitudes about women and sex to be sad and quite naive.

I think you are projecting quite a lot.

I cannot think of a single woman I know who is ashamed of her body or ashamed of liking or wanting sex. Or varied sex.

Sex aids are not new to your generation nor to the last 100 years. Seriously, try looking up the history of porn.

Your imagination is as limited as your experience.

Fifty Shades? WTF? That's what you think I've read? You are daft.

And what's this 'innocent little flower' crappola? Sounds like just one giant projection of your own hangups and not any experience of any woman I know or have ever known.

On the topic of projecting.

I didn't say you read Fifty Shades of Grey. I said a shit tonne of women did. The fact that you can't relate to those women, I think, says a lot. I think it's as easy as a lot of women don't want to be what you want them to be.

I just want to throw in that I don't think American culture is overly Conservative, for the most part. As you say, most women probably lead fairly average sex lives.

The thing about Sweden, as DZ mentions is that there's a big feminist faction. If I know anything about feminists it's that they can be quite progressive sexually, so I could feasibly see a difference in attitudes between the two countries.

All this really comes down to is that there might be some things getting lost in translation in this conversation. And I'll just leave it at that.
