We haven't seen a lot of effects in education yet. Environment, yes, and I hate Ryan Zinke with every fibre of my being. But I have no hope whatsoever that any other Republican president would be doing differently, alas.

I figure that if we can hang in there until there is a purge of corrupt republican (apology for the redundancy) congress-critters, we can remediate the damage. My worry is that no such purge will happen as long as Russia is allowed free rein to muck with our elections.
I certainly hope so. Some changes are not so reversible - if gas exploration is allowed into Bear's Ears and the Alaska NWR, for instance, we will not be able to fix the results of that in terms of extinctions and habitat destruction.

I read that Cohn has no successor as his asst. had already resigned.

And the bad news is, Larry Kudlow may take Cohn's position. Kudlow is a supply side moron who has never been right about anything even remotely connected to economics. But he has been on TV quite a bit so Trump likes him. Trump could not find a worse choice.

Their permits might be rescind-able... but whatever damage they cause in the meanwhile, not so much. Thoughts and prayers for extinct species and destroyed cultural artifacts and wildlife habitats - if they're good enough for dead school-children they should be good enough for all of the above, don't you think?

I'm curious, is there a way of comparing the turnover of people of one administration to another? For example the retention rate of this administration compared to Regan's?

Why yes, other Patooka, someone has crunched the numbers.

I didn't realize the turnover rate for staff in presidential administrations was so high. I suppose it make sense, considering the nature of the job. The take home point I guess is that Trump went through 2-3 times as many people as former administrations and and trends indicate much more is yet to come. Did someone inadvertently mention the Great Purge to Trump and he replied, "hold my beer"?

As we have seen, "Fatty Boom Boom" doesn't hire the most qualified people...

When requirement #1 is a fealty pledge to an imbecile, it's hard to find quality applicnts.

I would do it. Lying to a clown would be a reasonable ethical sacrifice in order to be in a position to disrupt his projects and protect the American people from harm. Staying there, though; I imagine I would last as long as the others!

I'd be rooting for you to out-last Da Mooch at least!

Well, Pompeo's long tenure at the CIA should definitely make him a strong candidate for the Sec. of State. What is insane is that Tillerson lasted "this long", and it has only been about 14 months.

The appointed CIA Director was responsible for torture at a camp in Thailand.

Mr "All Muslims are potentially complicit" is our Secretary of State now? Great... I actually sort of tolerated Tillerson in the role, it seemed like he was trying to put out his boss' fires more than throwing gas on them. Which, of course, was why he had to go...

OH MY GAWD...I just had this very SICK thought.

In order to appease Stormy Daniels, she gets the Communications Director spot...

Or Hope Hicks and Stormy Daniels could umm... share the position?

Just found out Tillerson learned of his firing from Cheesehead's tweet.

I dunno, the White House Press Secretary role might open soon as well. It would at least be more pleasing to watch...
