The thing I love about this is that it's at a classy dinner with at least some pretentious people, certainly the politicians. And she speaks truth to power humorously. There was a lot of backlash in the media saying she was over the top or not funny or insulting. Of course, those people would say that as she ripped them a new one.

The Republicans that went nuts over her satire are such snowflakes. As we used to say when I was a kid, "They can dish it out, but they can't take it."

The right-wing are a bunch of guys demanding to have anal but when their wives (mistresses?) ask if they'd let them shove something in their butt, they'd whine "But it'd hurt".

I thought it was a pretty funny set. If Sarah Huckabee, Trump, Spicer, et al don't like being called liars to their face, perhaps they shouldn't be despicable people. Truth hurts. I find it funny, myself. The same people that complain loud and proud about free speech on college campuses and so on, want to shut this woman up so badly. There's really no surprise at the hypocrisy.

braces, look... even Hitler didn't roast his own people.

I mean, in the metaphorical sense. He did literally roast some of his people at those centres.

I mean, even Assad wouldn't have said those things.

That set was brutal. But honest...
I did get some schadenfreude satisfaction from seeing the well-deserved discomfort of some who were in the target zone ... they can't handle honesty at all, let alone brutal honesty.
But I also feel like it was counterproductive - the Cheato cabal appear to be getting virtual sympathy cards, even from those who oppose them.
Yuck.

Just to be fair, mocking someone's looks isn't really appropriate. Michelle Wolf barely touched on people's looks.

I think Ms. Wolf crossed the line with some of her remarks. The fact that Trump and others of his ilk crossed that line does not excuse her behavior. But it does point out the glaring hypocrisy of Faux news and other rightwing critics of Ms. Wolf.

We all now know who she is. It was a career move.
I fell upon her HBO special a month or two ago. Gave it a minute or two and then didn't change the channel. I didn't realize she wasn't more well known already. Usually don't get an HBO hour long show without having comedy cred.

This wasn't an act, this is her style of comedy. Her comedy is a bit crude, but it is funny. It isn't like she went on the stage, took off her top and then said "fuck" twenty times and walked off.

All right, this is long, this has been long… yeah. Good evening, good evening, here we are at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Like a porn star says when she’s about to have sex with the Trump, let’s get this over with.

Yep, this is who you’re getting tonight, I’m gonna skip it a lot of the normal pleasantries. We’re at a Hilton: it’s not nice. This is on C-Span, no one watches that. Trump is president, it’s not ideal. The White House Correspondents’ Association, thank you for having me. The monkfish was fine.

Hey, just a reminder to everyone: I’m here to make jokes. I have no agenda. I’m not trying to get anything accomplished, so everyone that’s here from Congress, you should feel right at home.

We should definitely talk about the women in the Trump administration. There’s Kellyanne Conway. Man, she has the perfect last name for what she does: Conway. It’s like if my name was Michele jokes frizzy hair small tits. You guys got to stop putting Kellyanne on your shows. All she does is lie. If you don’t give her a platform she has nowhere to lie. It’s like that old saying, if a tree falls in the woods how do we get Kellyanne under that tree? I’m not suggesting she gets hurt just stuck under a tree incidentally a tree falls in the woods and Scott Pruitt’s definition of porn. Yeah, we all have our kinks.
There are some bombs in her performance, but I think it is pretty good. The Pruitt line is genius.

I think even though it may have hurt her flow, it would have been good to have an actual example of SHS lying. Would not have been hard to find either.

Comedy often doesn't include footnotes. You want Eddie Izzard to provide references in his routines?

I can't help but think of W getting brilliantly skewered by Colbert. He was a good sport and took it with humor and a smile even though it was clear he felt on the spot.

And now my soul has died a little bit realizing that I'm pointing out the grace and maturity of George W. Bush. :/

Some of Wolf's comments even disgusted me, but I support her in everything she said because speaking truth to power is more important than my personal discomfort. In fact, I would say making SHS and the rest of Trump's ilk very UNcomfortable is not only OK, but imperative.

Shriek, right wing! Be uncomfortable! You deserve every bit of disrespect and condemnation you are receiving. When your ideology reflects humane values and principles, we'll let up on you but not a minute before.

Authoritarians hate to be laughed at. They don't mind being hated; they can use hatred as an excuse to respond with violence. But being ridiculed is something they cannot stand. Responding to laughter with violence makes them look small and pathetic, which is a reality that is in extreme conflict with their chosen self image.

In other news: Water wet; Pontiff supportive of Roman Catholicism; Usidae choose arboreal sites for defaecation.

Emphasis mine. Her behavior was perfectly fine, it's her act you're having trouble excusing. Quit moralizing - it was a performance. An excellent one at that!

You expect a comedian to reinforce their rhedoric with factual examples as if to prove a point? Comedians prepare and perform in front of audiences who are already painfully aware of the substance of the monologue. It's when they don't that they "bomb". Michelle Wolf did not bomb as the attention her act recieved proves.

What I think many here are missing is how badly she beat the piss out of Democrats and the MSM you all cite for substance too. The hits weren't as often, however, they were blistering.

Wolf's final sentence on Flint water was the perfect finish. It doesn't appear anyone here got it and how it fits the entire monologue.

She is good at her craft!

Her misbehavior was crossing the line with some of her remarks. Perhaps you should take your own advice and quit moralizing.
