Every day, xtianity digs a new low of depraved disgustingness...

Evangelical Christian groups have filed multiple lawsuits across Texas arguing that businesses have the right to discriminate against LGBTQ+ workers… because religion. They’re arguing that they shouldn’t have to play by the same rules as everyone else solely on the basis of their faith. And unlike the lawsuits involving Christian bakers and florists, this has nothing to do with “endorsing” same-sex marriage.

The Christians in these cases just want the power to discriminate against gay people, period.

I can think of several organisations which would never hire Christians.
Can you imagine phands working in the HR department ?

"...oh no Lion IRC, I have nothing against Christians, it's just that you're not 'qualified' to work at our gay nightclub"

Prove it with factual sources

Prove what?
That I can think of organisations that would never hire Christians?

Wouldn't the people in HR be extra-sensitive to doing some sort of thing to open the company up to a lawsuit?
I mean, thsy are the office that always hurries to point out to people in my officde when 'that would be grounds for a lawsuit.'

And, really, Lion's claim makes zippity-shit sense in context, unless he can show an organisation that enjoys a legal right to not hire Xians, as that's what the people in the OP claim they should have, a legal right to discriminate by their prejudices.

Every organization has the right not to hire 'unqualified' job applicants.

Can you demonstrate that gay nightclubs have a practice of not hiring Christians, or is it just something that you're claiming is true?

Provide factual evidence of any organization/company in the U.S.A. that has a policy of not hiring christians.

I don't care about your faux-martyr imaginings.

Phew!
Glad I dodged that bullet.
Imagine if I had said I can think of USA companies "with a policy" stating Christians need not apply.

Well, you DID say 'would never hire a Christian,' as opposed to 'don't hire unqualified people,' so, yeah, your implication was a company policy, in the context of businesses that want to discriminate based on shared trait, not on individual merits.

So, yeah, you're just wrong. You can't put up, but you're unwilling to shut up.

So you're saying you want to work in a gay nightclub?

Also, if someone's religion doesn't come up (and I've done enough hiring to know that it shouldn't) during the interview and hiring process, then how would they know?

Also, are you ok with muslim clerks not selling you bacon?

Ya, I've never heard of any gay nightclubs which refuse to hire Christians. If there was one, I'd be against its discriminatory labour practices.

Now, if they refused to hire an Amish guy as a DJ because he won't allow himself to touch the turntables, then this would be fine because it directly impacts his ability to perform the job.

You have a lot to learn. You sound like one of those assholes who insists that whatever the majority wishes is law.

Man, that whole 'democracy' thing must be a real bummer hey.

I don't know how the legal system works in Australia, but here in the United States the Constitution grants certain inalienable rights to ALL people. While government officials are usually elected by the will of the majority, they do not have the power to take away the Constitutional rights of the minorities, through their actions, or through the passage of legislation.

Figured you didn't know how things worked this side of the pond.

I have to wonder after reading Lion's comments if he even realizes that there are a lot of gay Christians in the US. In fact, I'd be surprised if there weren't more gay Christians than gay atheists. There is or was a Baptist church in Atlanta that had a congregation that was mostly made up of gay folks. The former pastor used to be a member here. He wasn't gay himself but he was very welcoming of gay Christians. Not all Christians are assholes like the ones in Texas who are afraid of being around gay people. Are they afraid the gay might wear off on them? :glare:
