Kevin Dinnin, the CEO of the contractor that ran the controversial tent city for migrant children in Tornillo, Texas, says the facility is closing down because he refused the government’s request to detain more youths there.
Shrouded in secrecy since it opened in June to handle overflow of the Trump administration’s family separation policy, the facility at Tornillo became a symbol of the administration’s mass detention of undocumented children. Originally built to hold 400 migrant teens sent from its permanent facilities and and slated to close within 30 days, by December it had ballooned to a large complex holding more than 2,800 children.
“The children were coming in but never leaving,” Dinnin said in an exclusive interview with VICE News. The president and CEO of the nonprofit BCFS, which ran the facility under contract with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, said he was dismayed the U.S. government kept asking him to expand the camp.
But the Canadians would build it out of recycled materials and put solar panels on the thing, completely Un-American.Yeah, but all we have to do is say please to get the Canadians to pay for it.![]()

DJT THE GREATEST POTUS everrrrrr.....
And if we have to build the wall we might encourage further Petitions and LEGALLY build the fucking wall much further South than you Mercans and your POTUS ever imagined.![]()
And Palestinian-Egyptian terror millionaires. We're importing Saudi criminals now,
Correct. Trump is touting the wall as the solution to all of these when, in reality, it would have minimal effect on any. It's an ineffective vanity project which has its justifications supported by nothing except lies.
.....
OK, I fact checked and it turns out that phrase "And the majority of illegals in this country are here because their visa's expired and they didn't leave." is patently FALSE.
Data: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illegal_immigration_to_the_United_States#Illegal_entry
Data says 45% came legally and did not leave. 55% crossed border illegally. So Majority came illegally.
Well, double wall can, cameras can too. The reason I asked for proof is because it's clear to me that going through desert is clearly easier and less risky route for drug trafficking than trying hide drugs in the car and hoping US border people don't see it.More data: https://www.justice.gov/archive/ndic/pubs38/38661/movement.htm
They don't actually break down how much comes through ports of entry and how much comes through the desert. But a wall isn't going to stop contraband that can handle being launched via catapult...
Data says 45% came legally and did not leave. 55% came crossed illegally. So Majority came illegally.
.. through legal ports of entry.
Besides being backed by data, it is pure common sense... If you are carrying contraband, you have one thing to worry about. What you have. Where you are is not an issue. If you are carrying contraband AND are crossing illegally (not at a legal port of entry), then you have two things to worry about.
If you are going to break the law, do it carefully... not by advertising your illegal activity by way of being where your not supposed to be.
But not all of those who came illegally came over the Mexican border. And note that your data is from 2006.
“Honey, I have a car behind you,” the employee says in Spanish and closes the window.
“Can you move please? I have an order behind you. There is no one who speaks English,” the woman tells Montgomery in the video and threatens to call the police.
“This is Hialeah, I’m sorry,” she said in Spanish.
Two other Taco Bell workers approached the drive thru window when they heard the altercation, but apparently they did not try to help the client.
“No more, papi,” the clerk said in Spanish to a man who was in the car with Montgomery and was trying to argue that they were in the United States
Prove it. "Clear to me" (someone who isn't here and has probably never been to the SW US border) is hardly definitive.
A person might be able to carry 50-100 lbs of contraband. It would take hundreds of them to equal one submarine. It's not a big problem.
You are saying that one "Smuggler's Sub" carrying a crew can bring 10,000 lbs of drugs "no problem". The US Navy and Coastguard are no problem? Cannot detect smuggling submarines of that size? Which you know to exist? And they are going to defend America against China/N Korea/Russia/Iran?
Oh boy!
Well, it's even worse than that, because majority of the people with expired visas are ..... CanadiansBut not all of those who came illegally came over the Mexican border. And note that your data is from 2006.
Note that the two groups are not the same though. Those who overstay their visas were at least vetted for a visa before. Those who simply cross illegally are not vetted at all.
Those who overstay their student visa after graduation are at lest college graduates, and speak English. Those who enter from Central America usually have very little education, and many are even illiterate. Few speak English, and many never learn it even after decades in the US. Those who overstay their visas come from a large variety of countries of origin and have no real lobby. They are also more likely to assimilate into US society. Those who cross the border come predominately from Mexico and Central America and have a very powerful lobby. They also tend to form parallel societies that function in Spanish.
Example: ‘This is Hialeah!’ Taco Bell employee refuses to help client who doesn’t speak Spanish
“Honey, I have a car behind you,” the employee says in Spanish and closes the window.
“Can you move please? I have an order behind you. There is no one who speaks English,” the woman tells Montgomery in the video and threatens to call the police.

I.e. the Taco Bell employee, refusing service in English, is openly stating that Hialeah is no longer part of US, as it has been thoroughly colonized by Mexicans and Central Americans.
Both groups are a problem, but not an equivalent problem.
Makes me think of that scene in Caddyshack.THE BASTARD DEMANDED $1.6 BILLION AND GOT HIS DEMAND!
Hialeah has next to no Mexican citizens, actually; it's population is almost entirely Cuban. I take it we mean "Mexican" in the racist-American sense of "slightly dark skin and speaks Spanish".
And if you live in a town that's almost entirely Hispanic and never bothered to learn the language, I'd say you're the one who is refusing to sensibly assimilate. ¿Para qué sirve?
I don't know about El Paso, but when traveling in S. NM generally, I assume I'll be speaking my Pidgin Espanol a bit. What's the big deal? I don't support the blatantly anti-libertarian project to establish a national language and I'm not alone. Congress has voted the idea down 13 times, and they will again it they have to. We are Americans, and owe nothing to Great Britain that we haven't paid back to them many times over. We aren't a colony anymore, and I say we can and should speak whatever the hell language we want.Hialeah has next to no Mexican citizens, actually; it's population is almost entirely Cuban. Those Mexican wetbacks have taken over El Paso too. You never hear English down there.
I wish Canadians would start flooding the fascist red states in the midwest. That would be an improvement.
