Could you give a source for the 10,000 number? I'm sure we can get to the bottom of this more easily if we examine the methodology rather than just taking your word for it. Not that I'm suggesting you would ever make a bad-faith invocation of a group you actually disagree with to obfuscate the issue and own the libs, but here we are, so

Jason has been peddling that claim for about two years now. This is from 8/2017.

The SPLC, which has a vested interest in making the numbers of hate groups as large as possible, especially white nationalism, puts their numbers at less than 10,000 nationwide. In a country of approximately 300 million people, that makes them 0.0033 % of the total public, hardly enough to be anyone's base of support.

I doubt he even knows where he heard it. But it's absurd anyway for him to pretend that a count of ideological group membership is a count of all people who subscribe to an ideology. Is he even pretending?

SPLC does give an estimate of between 5,000 and 8,000 KKK members, those in groups that use the Klan name, but it does not include all white supremacist or nazi groups.

What I don't get is this insane fear of trait proliferation. Traits that are unwanted will not proliferate in populations that reject these traits. Good, beneficial, or at least desirable traits will be selected for. Unwanted and negative traits will be selected against. If some group has disadvantageous traits, children with those traits will reduce to a small fractional rate over time, and the children who lack those traits but retain the beneficial ones will proliferate those traits, as it always has been through all of history.

True. These 'supremecists' should want to have sex with every minority possible, to spread their 'superior genes' to the entire population, and thus insuring their 'race' will be everywhere. Instead they would prefer to go down the path of inbreeding. Saw a documentary on dog shows, and how the of breeding 'pure breeds' to unrealistic ideals have resulted in dogs that might fit a specific profile, but have terrible health problems.

That does bring up a certain point. There are certain dogs that are more violent than other dogs and there are certain dogs that are decently violent and then there are some dogs that are not violent and are extremely peaceful. If we can see this in dogs, why can't you guys see this in humans? Nobody would say, "if you think pitbulls are more violent than a jack russell terrier, you're a breedist!"

Why do you suppose this is such a high number for such a low percentage?

As a comparison, Asians make up 6% of the U.S. population and commit 1% of murders.
