Pelosi: Impeachment Is Moving Forward

Until this point there wasn't an impeachment to be in favor of, just a lot of talk.

False. There were Dems in favor of impeachment after the Mueller Report.

There were Democrats in favor of impeachment the day after election day, before he even had a chance to do anything. I suppose the LP should have backed them then, instead of waiting for some actual articles of impeachment to support.

That's because it's always been clear Trump has wanted to be a king and has demonstrated it with his behavior, INCLUDING asking the Russians to get involved in our election:
"Russia, if you're listening..." Do you support what the Federalist papers were against, the foreign involvement in our elections? Anyway, you are trying to use insults to make an argument, not addressing any substance at all. Obstruction of Justice as per Mueller report was and is grounds for impeachment.

yes, but he had promised to commit war crimes once he was in office. I was in favor of impeaching him before he took office, just on that.

Barring new information, Peterson will not vote for impeachment

Barring new information that could convince him otherwise, Rep. Collin Peterson said he will vote against impeaching President Trump when the issue comes for a vote Wednesday in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Peterson said he expects 4-5 other Democrats will do the same.

With not a single Republican in support of impeachment, it appears that the only bipartisanship is against impeachment. With Van Drew ditching the Dems, this impeachment looks really stupid. If you find yourself in a hole . . .

The LP waited until there was an impeachment process before they took a position you support, so you have to say "well they didn't support it when it was just suspicion." You'll go to any length, won't you?

I watched as much as I could stand of the impeachment hearing yesterday. I have to give it to the Republicans for their ability to lie and distort the truth. I've never seen such horrible people lie as much as the Republicans did yesterday. They tried to make the hearing all about Biden. Biden's the bad guy and Trump is that angel who was only seeking out corruption. If this isn't Orwellian, I don't know what is.

Let's face it. The Republicans held the power for the first two years of the Trump administration, yet they didn't do a thing about their claim of corruption in Ukraine. Now, suddenly when an opponent of Trump appears to be threatening him in the next election, corruption in Ukraine and Biden's son are all the rage. The US has always been far from perfect, but I never thought I'd live to see the day when our government was led by liars and corrupt politicians who projected their own deficiencies on their opponents.

The way you see it being a strong anti-Trumpist, right?

And how do YOU see it? Any evidence at all of Trump "fighting corruption"?
WHAT? NOTHING??
That's right, angelo, Trump IS corruption. He doesn't fight it, he has NEVER fought corruption in his miserable life. He gets foreigners to make bogus claims of corruption against his political opponents. Like he got Russia to make all those claims against Hillary that resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars wasted on years and years of Republican investigations that turned up zero crimes. Contrast that with three years of Trumpism and the fact that most his "friends" are now in jail and/or under indictment...
THAT is corruption, dude.

Actual, existing corruption embodied in the likes of Lev Parnas, is trump's stock in trade. As he says "Rudi looks for corruption everywhere he goes". I believe that's true; where there's corruption, there is opportunity for Donald the Trump.

Not sure they're actually in a hole since trump's criminality has been proven to such a degree that Republicans aren't even offering their usual "Nuh-Unh!" argument. But I agree that it's time to stop. They should NOT hold a full house vote until they get ALL the evidence, ALL the testimony and ALL the documents they have requested. If the administration continues to obstruct, let that be the "news" for the next 11 months, then hold a full House floor vote on 10/30/2020.

The LP waited until there was an impeachment process before they took a position you support, so you have to say "well they didn't support it when it was just suspicion." You'll go to any length, won't you?

The LP had a position not to impeach earlier. Insults do not improve your argument.

There's no doubt that some on the left were wanting impeachment from day one. This is making the task very difficult now that there are actual reasons for impeachment. I hate Trump. However, he won the election. Wanting to impeach Trump from day one empowered his allies and the people who voted for him, creating numerous conspiracy theories (that were baloney) that motivated Trumpsters and closed their ears to rational debate.

We need to pursue impeachment now because we can't allow it to stand that a president can blackmail countries into helping him/her. We can't allow it to stand. But impeachment is going to hurt the dems and make it more difficult to defeat Trump in 2020.

So how long did the Republican investigate the Clinton Foundation trying to get dirt on the Clintons, only to fail?

And yet tRump has already been found guilty of running both a scam university and a scam veterans charity and do the Republicans care?

I only wish that so many American conservatives were not so fucking stupid or so fucking corrupt themselves as to see that we should not have a criminal in the White House.

The guy is corrupt. He is destroying our institutions that protect our democracy. But those oh so patriotic conservatives don't give a flying fuck.

We can't allow a McConnell Clown Circus in the Senate. The prospective "jury foreman" has already announced the verdict, and is loudly and publicly tampering with the jury - it's guaranteed to be a sham, not a trial if it is allowed to proceed.

I never thought I'd live to see the day when corruption in U.S. federal government would get this bad. It just goes to show how far people will go to maintain power. It also shows how prevalent the sentiment for corruption is within the electorate when so many people approve it. It's no different than the sectarianism we see in other countries at which we point our finger and say "CORRUPTION!"

You know how we used to turn down our nose at countries where presidents strong-arm their legislatures into giving them extra terms?

Which is why the LP was against it earlier and in favor of it now. You are sensible. Any moment now Don2 is going to call you a Trump supporter.

Ultimately, they don't care about democracy. They want to be in charge all the time.

The frightening thing is how the Trump machine has managed to permeate almost the entire GOP... and has even managed to influence the Fed Bank. The Trump cabal managed to take control of the GOP even before he was officially nominated, keeping the GOP itself from nominating someone else at the Convention. Now he controls most of the states.

His control over the House is worrisome. And the Senate GOP seems only marginally more independent than the House GOP.
