Has anything been expunged from the Congressional Record?
All the time.
It's not a watchdog publication, but created for the use and convenience of the Congressmen. I think it was a 60 Minutes article back in the 70s, they filmed a rep voting FOR a measure on the floor, then went and told the CR to record it as an AGAINST vote. So he could tell his constituents whatever he wanted.
They also edited in speeches on days they didn't even show up. Probably isn't done as much anymore, since C-Span and watchdog groups record their every fucking move, but there's nothing to stop it.
Won't change nothin'. But they can wank themselves silly with the efgort.
Also, i imagine some ststes are going to buy the history books that list 45 presidents, but only say 2 impeached. The surface tension on the bubble grows thicker....
