Forgery suspect killed by cop restricting his airway

The cops, Derec, are you fucking serious? The answer is the cops.

The cops who got immediately fired and will probably get railroaded no matter what the investigation shows about the cause of death because politicians from the city mayor to the likely next president of the United States want them in prison? What kind of power is that?

Even if they hadn't killed him this video should be enough to get them fired. Unless you are some base form of bootlicker.
They GOT fired. So they are hardly powerful.
The family of the guy will likely become millionaires, and the hearse chaser Benjamin Crump will get his 35%. THAT'S power.

Nah dude. This video pretty much speaks for itself. You can't put your knee on someone's neck like that unless you are trying to asphyxiate them. It's extremely reasonable to conclude that's what killed him.

If he was being asphyxiated by the restraint he would not be able to talk because his trachea would be constricted.

Looked into that have you? You sure about that? You’re not just pulling it out of your arse?

“Positional asphyxia, also known as postural asphyxia, is a form of asphyxia which occurs when someone's position prevents the person from breathing properly.”

Yes, tragically.
But look at it from police point of view. If they had a nickel every time a perp feigned injury or illness when getting arrested, they could all afford to retire early.
He had no visible signs of distress at the time. He could speak normally for example.
And they DID call him an ambulance.

Floyd had a 200lb+ man kneeling on his neck for no apparent reason for about five minutes before he passed out. This is bound to be very painful at the very least but it was clear to everyone there that Floyd was struggling. And when Floyd went limp, the thug cop continued to kneel on his neck, that is fucked up.

In any case, we should await the results of the autopsy and not just assume that police caused his death.

I'm not assuming the cop caused Floyd's death. All the autopsy will determine is whether murder charges will be brought on top of what should be charges of assault. You're wriggling around this cause of death thing like that is what I am talking about. Well I'm not, I concede we don't know the cause of death yet. But what is important is that an out of control cop was taking liberties with a handcuffed suspect and that cop has rightfully been kicked off the force for now. Or do you think there is enough doubt about what went on and the cop should be allowed back on the streets pending a full investigation that could take months ? Should he be suspended on full pay for six months before ultimately firing him or him being able to return to duty?

I was going to make a similar point. Left-wingers normally LOVE unions, but there is one union they HATE with a passion - the police union.
Trying to get a better contract has nothing to do with hating a union - gov'ts bargain with public employee unions all the time over compensation, working conditions and the rights of management.

You really need to take a chill pill.

It certainly makes a difference whether police actions caused somebody's death or whether his death was largely independent from anything police did.
It does for criminal charges, but it makes no difference for the firing if the police officers violated protocol and rules.

Unless Floyd was a medical oddity, I think I am pretty sure.
To talk, you need to expel air from your lungs.

Dr fucking Derec.

It seems your are wrong, chum.

So your whole pathetic whine has been based on something you just made up.

True. Leftists hate the police union because of whom the union represents - police officers.
Prove it.

I think it's police haters like Joaquin Castro who need to take a chill pill.
I am unaware that Mr. Castro is participating in this thread and making ridiculous claims.

But, I will say, I am impressed you have not posted any smears about the non-black police officers and their record(s) of excessive force.

It is quite possible he meant he was having real trouble breathing.
Given that he died soon afterward, I think that is likely. He wasn't faking, although it would have been (nigh) impossible for the police officers to tell.
However, I do not think that trouble was caused by mechanical airway constriction because otherwise he would have had trouble speaking, which he did not have.

In any case, we are all just pissing in the wind until the autopsy and tox screen are released.

If I come across any relevant info, I will post it. Same if I learn anything new about Floyd.

Speak for yourself. I am not accusing the police officers of a crime. I do think that video shows each one of the officers violated Minneapolis police procedure and endangered the suspect. They deserve to lose their jobs.

 There is only one way they could "get railroaded" and that's if the investigation shows they were justified in causing Floyd's death, but they end up being arrested for his death and subsequently imprisoned regardless. That's what railroaded means.

because politicians from the city mayor to the likely next president of the United States want them in prison? What kind of power is that?

The kind that only exists in your fevered imagination?

They GOT fired.

Because they got caught apparently using unnecessary excessive force that resulted in the man's death.

So they are hardly powerful.

Until they were caught, they were extremely powerful. Like "authorized to kill you" powerful.

The family of the guy will likely become millionaires

Justifiably so, if indeed the autopsy report shows he died of asphyxiation.

and the hearse chaser Benjamin Crump will get his 35%. THAT'S power.

What is? Being a lawyer who wins a wrongful death suit? Why is "THAT" power?

It is already out for two of the officers. Not that it really matters for this incident.
